I finished Local Gone Missing and added to the ss, Not sure if I'll get through another one, but I'll try,
Sophie wrote: "I'd like recommendations for Kindle unlimited books you have read during the challenge please!"I'm glad life is (hopefully) calming down for you now. Things have been rough for a lot of people on this team during the challenge. Hopefully everyone else is managing ok, too. It's hard to lose loved ones or help them through serious illness. Good vibes to all of you...
As for KU recommendations, there are so many great titles on KU lately. I feel like they've really upped their game. I'm reading Death by Dumpling (Vivien Chien) right now and enjoying it.
Faking Under the Mistletoe was a really cute rom-com that Iooks like it's still available (although it might be early for a Christmas romance).
Everyone keeps telling me to read Freida McFadden. I haven't had the chance yet, but she has a lot on KU. I've heard The Housemaid and The Inmate are both good, but can't personally recommend them. I believe they are both psychological thrillers.
Steven wrote: "My understanding is that it needs to be read during Tower Teams and not specifically this mini."Yay - that works great then!
Amy the book-bat wrote: "Check the dates... I read 2 Sisters Detective Agency during TT, but I'm not sure if it was during this mini. It might work for read a book read by a team member"It looks like it was July 1st. It also looks like the book just has to have been read by the other teammate during the TT challenge (not read by both during the mini)...unless I'm misunderstanding (?). So I think it should work. I'll list it and someone can correct me if I'm wrong. :)
Steven wrote: "I'm checking books this weekend, everyone, so make sure your books are on your Tower Teams shelf, marked as read, and dated on the spreadsheet!"I've got some to add later! Finished Hidden Pictures and 2 Sisters Detective Agency. Just haven't had a chance to get them on the SS.
I've only read two TJR books. I'm the opposite of Alison though. I liked Malibu Rising and struggled with Carrie Soto Is Back. I think it was just a little too much tennis for me. 😂

The Book of Cold Cases and Arsenic and Adobo are both me! I've actually just finished The Book of Cold Cases. I may not update until tomorrow though. I'll read Arsenic and Adobo next since I feel like I haven't contributed much to the minis.
I should finish The Family Remains soon. It would be #2 in series. I wish I'd waited a day to finish Vera Stanhope #5. Oops.I'm terrible at strategy, so use however you want. It also features violin/fiddle for the musical instrument category.
Finished The Glass Room. Not on a laptop, so just jotted down a couple of things that may or may not be useful for the mini on the spreadsheet.
Do we still need a farmer book? I've got about 40 pages left in The Glass Room. The title character is a police officer, but her neighbors are farmers and they are being investigated for murder. I think there are about 7-8 main characters in this one, but the neighbors are included in that.
Should we still be looking up monsters for each of our books? Does the monsters mini-challenge go through the end of the challenge?
Two questions regarding BOMs:1. If we've already read the current BOM (before this challenge), are we able to earn participation points for answering questions? I'm guessing no, but wanted to check.
2. I just got my hold for The Book of Cold Cases. Too late to jump in for that one, right?
Just finished 15th Affair and Cackle and added them to the spreadsheet. Not a lot of help with the Cyclops, I'm afraid. Cackle involved some trickery, but I think that's the one Sophie said we have covered. :(
Devann wrote: "i am just looking at that rules post likeso i hope some of you are more strategy minded lol"
Same!
Amy the book-bat wrote: "Andrea wrote: "Sophie wrote: "Sorry for the lack of update over the weekend!"I read The Hot Zone in the 90s. I was so intrigued. I think it would be interesting to read it post-pandemic.
Reading Cackle right now. Do we think witch is different from sorceress? I'm not sure she's ever officially labeled. She casts a lot of spells and has powerful magic.
Audrey Jane wrote: "Sophie wrote: "Are you finding my monster updates helpful or are there tweaks to it that would help more?I've got a book that I'm 50% through that works for the remaining Empusa tasks, then we'll..."
I think I'm feeling this as well. I don't read a book a day and since we don't get a new monster until the current one is finished, I hate to claim anything.
But you could still use my books for the general challenge if they don't get used for the mini, right?
