I click "switch to this edition" and all looks good, but when I come back it has changed back to the default.
New question: If I check out the large print version of something from my library (it's the only copy available), should I use the GR default version to get a more accurate page number? I think I read this somewhere, but now I'm not sure where.

Aww...hi Mel! I'll check those out. Thanks for the recs. Enjoy this ONE challenge without me. Because I'll be back. Muwahahaha. 😈🥰

So glad to know it's not just me (this time). 😂
Are we ok to start loading what we think we'll read as our first few reads? I saw Judith's examples, but wanted to make sure it was ok to start adding books.I am very tempted to read this. I might see if I can track it down. Defenestrate by Renee Branum.

I will try really hard to come check this thread. I'm not getting notifications for it and my usual tricks to make Goodreads behave aren't working. I'm on GR every day, so I'll just make a note to check here. I've had this notification issue several times this year. 😒
It's either been a long time since I've participated in Wheels or I've never done this one, so I'm sure I'll have some questions. I signed up for a relatively low # of books, knowing that I may be figuring things out. I plan to read Salem's Lot before/during Halloween, but most of my books aren't that long. I'm looking through my existing books to see if I'll tackle any other 400+ page books during the challenge. If I read a really short one, is it better to not count it? I do tend to pick up every novella I find, but I don't have to count them!

Several years ago we had big drama on one of the team challenges and I had a dream that I ran into the players in real life and they started showing up at my workplace to harass me. It's a wonder I finished that year! It's so crazy what our brains do. (I mean...it wasn't THAT much drama). I decided to take a short break from psychological thrillers after that. 😂

hoopla is great, but it's very expensive for libraries. Around here, a lot of the medium-sized libraries used to have it, but have recently cut it due to budget constraints. I miss having it, but completely understand that budget cuts mean tough decisions.

Are the audiobooks mostly electronic (like Audible) or do you have physical copies? Audiobooks have become really challenging for libraries. Some people really want the audio CDs, but most cars can't play them. So we'd kind of switched to the Playaway mp3 players, but the newest cars don't have the aux port either. But relying solely on streaming can be hard for some people, too. I'm always curious about how people listen to audio, especially "on the go."

I signed up this year. I probably won't read many chunksters. I'm just in it for the fun though. I was looking through my old shelves and I'm not sure if I've ever done Wheel before. I've done Uno and Tower Teams several times, so that surprised me. Anyway...for whatever it's worth, I'm not super competitive. Assign me as you see fit. :)

Just wanted to let you all know that while the challenge may be over, it continues to live on in my weird brain. I was buying food for a tailgate party and needed a small brick of Velveeta. I laughed out loud in the cheese aisle thinking of Mel saying "this abomination of a cheese..."

I didn't love The Coroner's Lunch either, but at least it filled an itinerary spot! 😂
In college, I worked for an HIV service organization (helping people get to appointments, access meds, etc). Springsteen holds a very special place in my heart. We shouldn't have needed a song or a movie to feel compassion for others, but I feel like when Streets of Philadelphia came out, it really did help change public opinion. It certainly didn't eliminate the stigma, but it helped. That wasn't at all what you requested, but it's my own little Bruce story.
