We ALL loved it!!! My daughter's girlfriend doesn't even like going to movies but she went anyway and she also liked it a lot. :)
If anyone goes to see the movie, there is a party scene that Colleen is in but only in the background. She is at one time behind Lily and she's wearing a plain black dress. It goes really fast though. She's also at the very end opening the door to her bookstore in Texas so watch the credits too.

I did get all of my books posted that I've read up through today.

I just posted the book for the letter C in ViciousHornets. Not sure if we're in a hurry to finish that spell out but The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love's author is India Holton so it could be used for letter I if it hasn't been used elsewhere and I don't see it having been used.
Can someone please tell me again how to uncover the cells that show the books that are hidden?

Starting with the I book.

(Angie voted for me as Vicky, but I am Vicki) just to make sure you all know that I am the Vicki she tried voting for. Thanks for doing that, Angie. :)

@ VICKI is The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love book yours? If not focus on an R or E"
Yes, it is but I saw that Teddie wanted that spot for O. I am actually almost done with my O book and Cecily is down for the R book which I also had planned. lol I guess I keep being too late. Maybe my books will fit in for the next spell out.

11. We learn a lot more about the library in this section, for example that new head librarians create new systems to secure their power and make themselves indispensable. I know we have a few librarians in this group… how do you feel about that? 😅 If you’re not a librarian –what would you do if the library you use just changed systems whenever it felt like it?
Seriously? I would pull my hair out! I hate dealing with change as it requires you to learn something new and not always for the better. Change can be good, obviously, but certainly not often and at random. So, no thank you.
12. We also finally had our stories converging, albeit briefly. Livira and Evar were exploring new places in consecutive chapters, both of them marking their origin/path (Livira with books, Evar with a knife) and then their journeys culminate in them meeting in what Livira identifies as an “in-between place”. Were you expecting them to meet so soon? What was your impression of their brief time together – and why did the meeting end so abruptly?
Hmm...good question. I wasn't expecting them to meet at any particular time/place so I wasn't surprised or anything. I liked their first encounter and how they interacted. I assume it ended abruptly so the reader would basically say, "Wait! What? I want to know what else happens between them." In other words, to add suspense and an "I want to know" so that we reader further and maybe faster. lol
13. In her time in the library, Livira acquired a companion in the raven: is he an ally or guide? Or something sinister? Do you think it’s actually “just” a (magical) animal or maybe even a character we know already?
I like this question because I hadn't even considered it being one of the already known characters. Guess I'll find out! I think the raven is more likely a guide. I don't think it's sinister. But who knows.
14. I can’t help but constantly think of the Book of the Ancestor as I’m reading this – the young girl protagonist who’s an outsider, the school setting, navigating friendships and political machinations while also learning about whatever type of magic there is… Have you read anything else by Mark Lawrence?
I read Red Sister back in 2018 so I don't remember anything about it to be honest, but I did love it as I gave it 5 stars.

6. How are you enjoying the book so far? How's the pacing for you?
I'm certainly liking it more than I had thought I might...so far. I find the pacing is good for this kind of book.
7. What are your favorite characters, situations, quotes so far?
I had written down this quote because I liked it and how it helped me understand the characters: "The books they were lost with in the Mechanism, had tortured them, left them with skills honed to the sharpest possible edge." The personification of books and the idea of them being "tutored" by the books (mentioned in another place) added to my understanding just how much influence the books really had over them.
8. What are your fondest memories of a library?
My fondest memories is taking my own children to the library and letting them check out 20-25 books at a time. The LOVED going and I have those same fond memories of taking my grandkids, but I only let them check out 3-5 books each since I don't have control over their household and keeping the books safe. lol
9. Library as prison... does that ring true for you?
It rings true for this story, yes. For me, heck no! I'm a prisoner of books in general though, I'm ADDICTED to challenges in which case I have to most often go to Libby (library online) or my public library. lol But I've relished the time I spend in libraries so nope...I don't see it as a prison.
10. If you could have one natural ability relating to books (view spoiler), what would it be?
I would have the gift of TRUE speed reading! I can read fast when I have to but I can't say I can speed read like some people whose READ shelves I've seen or like some of the more famous speed readers in the world. If I could literally fly through a book in a matter of minutes, I'd love that.
Secondly, I would remember all of the little details that I always forget by time I finish a book. lol

Also @Cat: only whole numbers for series # will work for this mini."
Thank You- I found a shorter whole number in my ..."
It was definitely a good book! I love a good mystery/thriller and for me this one was 5 stars. Most of my mysteries are 4-5 stars unless they really bomb for me. I read one book though with a buddy and she gave a book 1 star that I gave 4, so you never know. We do a lot of buddy reads and we are mostly within 1 point of each other's ratings, but we've had quite a few that I loved but just didn't work for her. I have rarely give a 1 star rating. So you never know, but I recommend it. I had bought it from the Book of the Month aka BOTM. lol

I also am going to be reading The Angel of Indian Lake Not sure what it will work best for but I have to finish it today for another challenge. So I will be reading two books today..no time for anything else! lol

I hope you're having a good time for your holiday weekend. :)

We have a new spell out and I added a book for G in FOG. I see others have posted books read on Aug. 1 so obviously I can read that one. I still am not sure when I can read for thee other tasks or even if my books are still planned/claimed or been removed.
I hope I am explaining myself and I'm clear. I am definitely not complaining if something doesn't get used. Like if someone else reads a G book before I read mine, I am OK with theirs being used instead. I just want to know if mine (in this case my G book) isn't being used where it went to. lol
