Okie dokie! Let's GOOOOOOOO!!!

Both books are SUPER short, so if anyone has higher page count books for those letters, feel free to remove mine and add others. My R book also works for T as the ALN is Thorpe. So, if it works better for T and someone else has an R book, again feel free. I am reading the R book now.

I'm not sure if my book was used for anything yet, but I finished The Angel of Indian Lake yesterday and it has white text on the cover.

11. Ack! Why do these kinds of stories always have the not-quite-yet couple decide after a steamy session that they need to keep their relationship platonic? You know that both people just go off wistfully lusting after each other and regretting the whole platonic agreement! What other tropes in romance novels drive you nuts?
I can't think of any right off hand because I don't think any tropes drive me nuts. lol What I don't like though is those women/men keep saying they're not good enough for the other or they have all kinds of reasons why they shouldn't go for the romance/love, etc. So if that's a trope, that would be it. Unlike a lot of people, I don't mind love triangles, enemies to lovers or fake relationship tropes.
12. It's a huge step for (view spoiler) It's so easy to get bogged down by things, and then it can be so hard to let them go. Have you had to deal with similar situations (the general situation of having accumulated too much but having trouble downsizing)?
OMG! Funny you should ask. BOOKS!!!!! I am practically a hoarder when it comes to books. I have too many in my house, books on my bookshelves stacked in some cases. I plan to finally donate a lot of them to the high school library where I used to teach English and yearbook. I know the library is always in need but it's SO HARD to part with my books, especially special ones!
13. Any further thoughts about Miles's family background? We learn a bit more in these chapters about what growing up with his mother was like for him; is there more to his estrangement than that?
I seriously doubt it was over one thing, but an accumulation of things that probably built up over years.
14. What are your thoughts about Julia? What do you think is her real motivation for her visit to Miles?
I like her even though she's a mess...so I have a feeling she "needs" her brother and something happened involving her parents...that's my best guess.

6. In this section, we learn that the countdown at the start of every chapter is for the Read-a-thon, a reading event Daphne is planning at the library. Did you try to figure out what it was about? What did you think? Or were you just along for the ride, waiting to find to, like I was?
I am always curious what countdowns are for and what that eventual Day 1 will be, but I never stress over it because it's always revealed somehow. So, I basically went along for the ride.
7. Speaking of the Read-a-thon, have you heard of or participated in (or even organized!) something like it? Would you like to?
I've never organized one, but I've participated in quite a few Read-a-thons on Goodreads. I used to use them a lot to push myself to read more and faster but I haven't for a while now.
8. “[Sadie] and Cooper were our best friends” Daphne is not only going through the end of her romantic relationship, but also seems to have lost her best friend. What’s your take on that? Have you ever been on either side of this situation? (No need to answer/go into detail of course!)
I can't say that I have ever been on either side, thankfully.
9. “I think the beard is sheer chaos, but not inherently bad. It’s your face, Miles. All that matters is how you feel about it.” I think Daphne makes a great point here and think we should all remember that a bit more before we judge people’s looks. Were there any quotes that really stood out to you?
I actually like the above quote. I used to see people's outward appearance (such as younger people like skater types or guys who wear the pants that show their underwear. But at the age of 37 I went to college and was in an honors cluster for English, History, and Philosophy. I was up there in age and there were several people I would've sworn by looking that them that they were on drugs or not very smart...boy, did I ever learn not to judge a book by its cover. I hate to admit that I used to do that, but I don't anymore.
10. What do you think is up with Miles’s family so he doesn’t have a relationship with his parents? How do you feel about Daphne neither probing nor really wondering about it?
I assume they've (his family) had some kind of "life-altering" argument that's created strained family relationships. I think Daphne had the good sense not to probe. There are times when you need to just be patient and wait until someone is ready to divulge certain things to you because eventually it will come out if/when he's ready. We don't always have to/need to know every aspect of someone's life.

1. Is this your first Emily Henry book or have you read others by her? If not your first, what has been your favorite book of hers, so far? If your first, has she been on your radar before or is this a BOM/Games thing you're reading for?
I've read 3 of her books: Beach Read 5 stars Book Lovers and Happy Place both 4 stars. So BEACH READ was my favorite of hers so far.
2. What do you think so far of the story and the writing?
So far I like it. I've always liked the writing in her other books I've read, so I'm not surprised I like this one too.
3. What would you do if you found yourself in the same shoes as Miles and Daphne and were invited to an ex's wedding?!?
Uh, hell to the NO! I would feel like it was a slap in the face to go to an ex's wedding unless there were extenuating circumstances and we'd had a very amicable breakup, then perhaps.
4. I love Emily Henry's characters. I always find myself laughing throughout her books. Are you enjoying the characters so far in this one? Anyone in particular an early favorite?
As of right now I like all of the characters. Probably my two favorite are Ashleigh and Miles, with Miles having a slight edge. I like his music sense.
5. Any early predictions for how this will turn out? Do you think Peter's call to Daphne is an indication of jealousy? Do you agree with Ashleigh when she said "If Peter was going to break your heart now, he would’ve done it eventually." and "He's a lunch swapper, and whether it was the rusty metal Batman lunch box or a Cars 2 zip-up one that's filled with mold, at some point, he was going to trade in the sack lunch." (I love that metaphor!!)
Most definitely, Daphne was upset for sure. I don't know that he was jealous when he called her, but he was absolutely jealous when she told him about Miles and her dating. I 100% agree with Ashleigh's brilliant metaphor. Good one whoever came up with it!

OK, I just saw that the reason was set in Russia and another book said set in Mexico, so that threw me off.

I haven't read that one yet. It's on my SS so I was wondering if we needed it for either A or S.

We have a new arena hazard: skewer-beaked birds
With 3 days left in the challenge, this may be our last hazard!"
There are a lot of books that need letters to fit, but I don't know how this particular one works. My book that was set in Russia is the reason for it being used for B, so it's not going by title/author only. I don't see where the AH85-AH91 tasks are. How can I see those to know if any of my other books will work, such as The Angel of Indian Lake would work for letters A or S, but I don't know if it can be used based only on the letter...if I make ANY sense at all! lol

I will have time for another book if we need anything specific. I have another planned on the SS but I can hold off on it if we need another book instead.

Well, if that's the only reason you're reading it right now, I would say no. We've already done the s..."
Thanks, Teddie, I sometimes feel like I sound as though I'm complaining, but I truly am not. I simply get confused! I did look up a Pakistan book last night because I thought we needed it, so I will definitely not read it and read something else.
I am going to read Funny Story but the author's initials are E.H. so not in ELECTRONICS. I am currently reading River Sing Me Home by Eleanor Shearer so that one works, BUT I don't want to confuse anyone by putting/crossing over the code indicator, so IF we can use that one would you please put the code for it. I'll be finished with it in a couple hours at the most.
I also finished a book yesterday that works if it wasn't already used: The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren

That's probably my fault. I had originally planned the #3 book but hadn't read it yet, so I saw Cat's name there and wasn't sure about my book. I had put it up for the last round, I think, but it got replaced. Anyway, when I "claim" a book and it gets moved it confuses me. I don't know if I should stop putting what all my books work for but it seems unfair to assume/make others look up how they'd work. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes! I am still waiting to read my #3 book until it can be used.
