Thank you! They all look really good, so I haven't quite decided yet. I've heard of the first two but never looked into them and The Paris Wife in particular has a description I was not expecting. I'd never heard of The Moon is Down before and I do love WW2 fiction so it might be the one I choose. Actually I'll probably read all of them at some point. :)

1.

This one is historical fiction, but it sort of feels like fantasy when you read it. It's quite unique really, about a person in 1700s France with a freakishly great sense of smell. It's about his life making perfumes and trying to create the perfect smell...by whatever means possible.
2.

I actually haven't read this yet but it sounds very interesting and like something you'd enjoy. It's about a battle between the last two magicians in the world who at first try to be friends but end up going in different directions, magically. I'll be reading this as a buddy read in January so you could join if you pick this one.
3.

This one is one of my favourite YA dystopian books (though I've nearly had enough of that genre by now). It's set in a world where humans are nearly extinct after a war with the Partials (genetically engineered human-like creatures). The humans are struggling to survive because of a disease that has caused every new baby for more than a decade to die. It's a good story with good strong characters.
4.

This is a classic book that's less well known. It's a fantasy adventure which is somewhat similar to Gulliver's Travels. Well, it's the reading of a manuscript with these adventures written on it. It's got quite a philosophical side which makes you think a lot as well as the interesting adventures.

Quite a lot of classics and historical fiction, along with science fiction and sometimes children's book.
2. What type of book would you like to have suggested by your not so secret Santa?
Not romance/erotica, mysteries, or "chick-lit" type books. Any of the types listed in 1 would be good. :)
3. Would you like the secret Santa and possibly others to discuss the book with you?
Don't really mind
4. Would you be willing to discuss the book with the person you make a book suggestion to?
Somewhat, but January is a pretty busy month for me so I don't think I'd be able to discuss too deeply.
5. What is your age range:
B) (17 - 29)
(Whoop whoop! Finally made it into the next age group!)
6. On average how many books do you read in a year?
Usually 80-100, but this year has been slow with a horrible 3-4 month reading slump.
7. Do you want a book readily available from your local library or would you mind purchasing something new?
I don't mind buying something new, as long as it's not too expensive (e.g. a new release only in hardback). Library might be preferable though.

It's been a long time since I read the first two in this trilogy, but some things are slowly coming back to me.
Through chapter 11
As for Ma..."
I agree with both of you. It was definitely very unexpected for her to do something like that after how she'd acted for the first half of the book. On the other hand, END OF BOOK SPOILERS (view spoiler)

And to anyone, and how do I check the page count of children's books?
(Specifically Little House in the Big Woods and Little House on the Prairie)

I am planning to read this one ..."
It was earlier than I was thinking but I think I can fit it in, especially if it turns out to be as engrossing as the first one.
