35559 Hello, I've joined! I'm really excited to start a new round because I wasn't very active in the last one. :)
35559 Haha, yeah, badbutt would never work :)
35559 Oo, you're in Leather Jacket Black, I think. :)
35559 Sorry, what I meant was this:

When I join the round 2 challenge, if I put my goal as 70 (as it is for the whole year), won't the tracker always read "behind schedule" because it's not counting the first 20-odd books I read towards my total yearly goal?
35559 Wouldn't he be behind schedule then?
35559 Steven wrote: "Question: If my goal for the NBRC full year challenge was 60, and I've read 24 up to this point, would I put 36 in as my Color Challenge goal?"

I'd like to know this too, please :)

35559 Okay, thanks. That sounds like a very good idea. :)
Apr 11, 2013 10:20AM

35559 Does that mean we won't start round 2 until all teams have reached 2013 books?
Apr 09, 2013 08:12AM

35559 Oh, no! It looks like we're about to lose :0

35559 Okay, no problem. Thanks :)

35559 Does The Fractured: Elena (Fractured #1) have more then 170 pages? It's 383 KB so by the rule mentioned earlier in this thread it would have enough pages - 191.5, but on Amazon it says the estimated length is only 93 pages.
35559 This is an amazing book. I'm glad it's been chosen so more people will read it. :)

35559 I loved Peter Pan, Five Childern and It, The Fairy Magic books, Harry Potter and The Secret Garden.
35559 I'd like to join. I love the idea of having less people on each team. :)

How many books you read in 2012? 97
How many books you plan to read 2013? 70
If you were in Round I, the percentage of goal reached would be appreciated, if you know it. 20% so far, I'm on track
Would you be willing to be a Team Captain? No
35559 I really want to read this! It's just that so many great books have come out this past month and I'm not sure asking the library to order 8 new releases for me is the best idea :-(
Book or Movie? (65 new)

35559 It really depends on the book/movie but generally I love it when a book I've really enjoyed becomes a movie, even if the film's not as good. I like to see how other people (the director) interpreted the book and, though it may sound stupid, I love pointing out all the things that are wrong about the movie. For me the best thing it that the book gets read by so many more people after a movie adaption comes out and I can finally discuss one of my favourite books with friends.
Here's book/movie adaption and what I though of them off the top of my head.

The Notebook: terrible book, quite a good movie
The Perks of Being a Wallflower: AMAZING book and movie
Harry Potter: Wonderful books, very good movies (especially 1,2 and 4)
The Hobbit: Good book, boring movie
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: Very good book, very good movie
Rest of the Chronicles of Narnia: Decent books and okay movies
Twilight series: okay movies, decent books (well I thought so at 12 and haven't read them since then)
The Kite Runner: Fairly good book, boring movie
The Lovely Bone: Good book and movie
Life of Pi: Rubbish book, okay movie
Inkheart: Ok movie and book

35559 Oh good, a movie of this would be really good provided it had the right actors. I just wish films didn't take so long to be made, we'll probably be waiting years for this. :(

35559 Glad that we're back in the lead! :)
The read-a-thon was fun but I think it was a little too long. It sounded like a great idea beforehand but 9 days is a long time. Maybe next time just a 24 hour or weekend one?
