35559 Finished Gulliver's Travels. I don't think I'll be able to finish my next book this week so it'll probably have to count for next week instead.

35559 I'm reading Gulliver's Travels which will work for R or M (Richard Sympson or Mary Gulliver).

35559 Summer is nearly over where you are? That's interesting, here in the UK next week is the first week of the summer holidays and we don't go back until September (I'm having a longer summer because I finished my last year). When does school finish for the summer in the US?

35559 Not quite worn out here! Finished The Invention of Wings now :)

Yes, I'll still be reading The Invention of Wings. I'll start it today as soon as I finish The Stranger, which unfortunately is too short to be counted for anything. But no, the other book I'm reading wouldn't work for "I" either.

35559 Finished Ulysses for M, D or L

(characters Leopold Bloom, Molly Bloom, Stephen Dedalus)

35559 Thank you! In which case I'll also be finishing Gulliver's Travels and Ulysses, with characters Buck Mulligan, Leopold Bloom, Molly Bloom, Stephen Dedalus, and Simon Dedalus, to name a few.
So that's a G and either an M or a D or an L.

35559 Hello, I'm Lilac and I live in Wales. I read a lot of genres and lately have been especially interested in classics and historical fiction. I just finished year 11 so am in the middle of my longest summer of my life. I don't have a job either so when I'm not camping with friends or on holiday with family I can spend a lot of my time reading. At least until September.

I'm participating in the booktube-a-thon which starts on Monday so I should be reading a few books this week. I'll definitely be reading The Invention of Wings, and from what I can tell the main character is Hetty Grimke but also possibly Sarah Grimke.

A quick question: do the books for this challenge have to be started after the shelf is announced?

35559 For Chloe (thebooklover)
Hope you enjoy :)

Partials (Partials, #1) by Dan Wells - This one's got lots of action and is a little more sci-fi then most dystopians. Really good though.

Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi - I was surprised by how good this is, and the sequel, Through the Ever Night is even better. It's not all romance like the cover suggests.

Uglies (Uglies, #1) by Scott Westerfeld - I'm recommending this even though it's already on your tbr because it's so interesting ans there are great twists.

Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman - This is much darker so be prepared to be a little horrified by parts if you pick this one. I love how terrible the dystopian world is and how different all the characters are.

35559 I read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. It's good that some of these novellas and short stories actually count now. :)
35559 Sounds like fun :)

1. What type of books do you mostly read?

About 50/50 young adult and adult. I like fantasy, science fiction, dystopian, classics and historical fiction (not historical romance, though a little romance is fine). I don't like myseries, chick-lit, contemporary, romance or erotica.

2. What type of book would you like to have suggested by your not so secret Santa?

One that's not too hard to read (e.g. not a book like Les Miserables or Lord of the Rings). I have exams in January so would prefer not to have to work too hard when reading too.

3. Would you like the secret Santa and possibly others to discuss the book with you?

Sure, sounds good.

4. Would you be willing to discuss the book with the person you make a book suggestion to?

Yes, but not in too much detail because I might have forgotten some of the little things.

5. What is your age range:

A) 16

6. On average how many books do you read in a year?

70-100

7. Do you want a book readily available from your local library or would you mind purchasing something new?

I'd prefer it to be available from my local library.

35559 I'm reading books by Veronica Roth and Lauren Kate now so there's two sets already. I also might read a book a Jasper Fforde or Julie Kagawa if I get round to them.
