That looks nice Apoorv.
Hi team, got a bit a a problem with a book and I'm not sure what to do about it. I'm currently reading
Edge of Eternity and at a normal pace I'd finish it in the next week. However, I realised that this book is a buddy read around the 25th of November. I'm going to discuss in the buddy read anyway, but I don't think I can make myself stretch the book out that far. Do you think I should try and make it last longer to get the extra points? If so, any tips on how to do that (provided the library will let me keep it that long)?

Yes, A Game of Thrones is amazing! It's a big commitment for your first fantasy but they're very good.

Okay, thanks :)

Yes, Glass Houses is definitely more paranormal, mostly vampires. Glass Houses itself isn't that amazing but the rest of the series I really loved. Also, it's YA, just so you know. :)

If you finish a buddy read book before the official start date of the buddy read, but still participate in discussion, can you still get points?

I was thinking of getting a job too but there's no public transport where I live after 6pm so the longest weekday shifts I'd be able to do are 2 hours, which wouldn't be worth it as the bus fare is more than an hour's pay for 16-18 year olds. Looks like I'll have to stick to occasional babysitting until I take my driving test and save up enough for car insurance.
Aproorv's job does sounds extremely painful! I don't think I could cope with doing any sort of job for 12+ hour shifts, let alone 30 hour shifts.
Good luck with finding a job Jane! If you keep your eyes peeled a perfect one may eventually turn up, or at least something that'll give you inspiration for what you might want to do. :)

Ah, that's a good idea Kelly, I think I'll do that. :)

I've already read that and it's very good! Shame I can't read it for the group read but I might read the sequel anyway.

Yay! Starts at a great time for me!

Sophie, how about pumpkin pie or pumpkin tartlets?
I'm in Hay-on-Wye this weekend, a little place in mid Wales with 42 bookshops. It means I might be a little bankrupt by Sunday, but at least I'll have loads of books to read for when the challenge starts :)

I've got to agree with Sophie about the sweets, apple crumble and Cadbury's are delicious and quite British.
Yes, it's an extremely popular name, about 80% of surnames in my school are Davies, Jones, Williams and Roberts.

Wow, that looks heavenly!

Thanks Esther :)
I think that's a really good idea Dragana, they'd be fun to answer and interesting to learn more about the other countries.

Ah yes, like Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. Haha it was one of the schoolyard challenges to learn to say that word in primary school :)

Wow that's amazing Juliana, I'd love to be able to read books in that many languages. Actually I've bought a Harry Potter book in French to try to learn more but I only understand about every other word.

I live in Wales, which is that little country to the left of England that everyone always forgets about!

Yes I did! Although it's half term so it doesn't make much difference to me at the moment.
I'm going to try and read Crime and Punishment on the 12th of November if I manage to get a copy of the right translation.
