I think people will be starting from the start so it might be a while before people get to books 6 and 7. I'm tempted to read them but am not sure yetThat's fine Halli! I'm a bit jealous of the fresh are you'll be breathing in! haha
Thanks Eunice! @Halli will update your shelf when she's back on.Teri - How are you finding Scythe? It's on my next to read pile.
Brooklyn - Do you think you'll read the next book in the Percy Jackson series? There's 5 books of Percy Jackson and Greek Gods, then the next 5 Riordan brings in the Roman Gods. I found it interesting to see Riordan's take on Greek vs Roman gods
Have you volunteered to do DQ for Lilac girls?
Amanda - I think it would be easier if you posted in the Books thread. We also have a spreadsheet that Halli created and I've been adding to slowly. So you can add to one or the other or to both. It's up to you.
I'm happy to add the book you've read to the spreadsheet if you'd prefer to stick to the Book Read thread.
I have both links listed in the first comment I made here.
There are three ways you can report your books1. On this discussion page
When you report your books here, please use the following format:
- Book title
- Author
- Number of pages
- Date read
- What challenge the book is in (If BOM, please write if you wrote any questions or just participated, and link to comment)
- Any extra information (characters names, how many stars you gave it, do you recommend it?)
2. On our planning spreadsheet
Follow the column titles and as for any help on our team discussion page
3. Both
**NOTE**
As we are in different countries, we report dates differently. I tend to use day/month/year, whereas USA would use month/day/year.
To avoid confusion, when reporting the date read, you can use either:
11/May/2018 or 11/May, OR
May/11/2018 or May 11
I don't mind which one as long as you have the month written.
When posting the date read on excel, I've changed the format so it will appear as "12-May".
If you type in "May 12" or "5/12", it will appear as "12-May". This is correct and we want this.
If you type in "12 May" or 12/5", it will appear as "05-Dec". We do NOT want this.
I've added in a tab for Book of the Month to the spreadsheet. Let me know if you have any questions about it.I'll keep working on the Spells tab on the weekend. Then I'll work on the Buddy Reads.
I'm going to bed now zzzzz
Sounds great Brooklyn!Sonia posted a 'Spells by Letter/Type' spreadsheet in the captains group. I've added the spreadsheet that she made to ours. You can see how many of each letter we need to read for each spell.
I know I'm late but I was doing the open ended version of this at the start of the year and I've finished it. I've figured I have time to finish the yearly version this year!My link to the open ended challenge is here. So any books I used in the open ended challenge, I won't use here. I struggled to find an author with P, Q, X and Y in the open ended one.

It would definitely be easier for us!If everyone is okay with this, I'll start the spreadsheet and work on it as much as I can between my two assignments due next week. Whatever is posted on here, I can add to the spreadsheet before I post it here
For now, add books for spells into the spreadsheet that Halli made. For other posts, post a comment here and I will sort it out.
But, do you guys want to add your books to a spreadsheet or just post here? What's easiest for you all?
Welcome Eunice!Nicole - Thanks for the add to the spreadsheet
You don't have to read books for the spells. We'd prefer if you could read books that we can use in this challenge one way or another, but we don't want to make reading not fun and relaxing for you.
There's a few ways that you can make a book count in spell-it-out challenges. Letters like, Q, V, X, Y, Z tend to be harder.
Karishma - Click on one of the buddy read links that I listed and it should take you to the buddy reads page for that group. Post that you're interested in it and once you start, let us know here that you're in that Buddy Reads. I try and check everyday to see what's changed/been added so I can update it for you here. I will link the Kate Daniels series buddy reads soon
