35559 I finished. I couldn't study as my back was sore, so I was reading on my bed.

I'll try not to say to much so I don't give anything away.

I think this was a good read. Entertaining and mysterious and now I'm tempted to watch the TV series.

35559 Okay, I've adjusted the planning spreadsheet up to here. Thanks guys! It's looking better.

If a spell was not completed in the planning spreadsheet, it wasn't put into the official one accordingly - hence some inconsistencies that you all pointed out.

Amanda - your points from message 348 I'll keep working on

35559 @ Mods, could we please get Crooked Kingdom set up as a B.R. for July 6th, pretty please?

That was hard to read for me. I can only imagine what she went through.

It's healthy that her daughter has a healthy relationship with her dad and stepmother, but seeing it from Madeline's view is hard. (view spoiler)

I can see why this was made into a TV series. From what you guys have said, I'm tempted to watch it but after exams and after I've read the book.
35559 How do you all find the humour in the book so far? I think Australians have a darker sense of humour (I know I do)

I knew it was by an Australian author but I'm so used to reading books with the American or UK's school system. So, you guys start in September. It took me a bit to get my head back into the Australian school system.

Kindergarden to grade 6 in primary school- we start the school year in early February. We have four terms. At the end of each term, we have a two week break. We finish school in December just before Christmas and then we enjoy the weather and beaches before the next school year.
Private schools may differ on the days they start school and finish school as well.

In high school, it's the same except depending on your year level, you could finish in November or December.

I hope that gives you guys some perspective (coming from an Australian)!

I see what you mean! I think I still don't know who the side characters are in the excerpts.

Thanks Christina! I just couldn't describe her in my head. I can understand more now about who she is
35559 I've read up to chapter 20.

So, at the start I was a bit iffy on the book. Now I like it. Madeline has got me to laugh out loud a few times as well as her husband. She's grown on me. She'd be an amusing friend to have. You'd either join in on her antics or shake your head and support her because you know she means well.

Jane - (view spoiler)

Celeste - (view spoiler)

Abigail - (view spoiler)

I did a bad thing. I skimmed the last two chapters because I couldn't take it anymore. I sort of know what happens. I feel bad but No Regrets!
35559 Okay I've got the book. I've read up to chapter five. I'm probably going to read this slowly so sorry if I drag you guys behind!

I wanted to read this book as I want to read more Australian authors. I haven't read any of her books previously either.

@Kaley - I didn't read the synopsis either! I probably should have.

But, so far I am liking it. We've been introduced to quite a lot of characters so it might take me a while to get used to them and figure out who is who. The way it's written and the tone of the book are different that to what I'm used to. I think I like it though.

(view spoiler)

How would you guys describe Madeline? Jane's description of 'glittery' doesn't say much to me.

35559 There has to be a dark element to it.
I think we’ll have to stick to dementors, vampires, demons, shifters...
We thought Aliens would count but it was ruled out

The books that aren't in bold or underlined are for you to sort out into classes. If not, then yes highlight in pink.

You can go through all your books if you want... if you have time. It's not necessary though.

Yes, can you put that book in for the uses? That's all we need for Care of Magical Creatures. Teri and I just need to start/finish our books to describe the creature.

35559 **ANNOUNCEMENT**

Hi all. I hope your reading is going well.

Halli and I are wanting to organise the books that you've read but haven't been put into spells and classes.

You can see on the Official Spreadsheet we have put the books in the 'Books' tab in bold for spells and underlined ones that have been used for classes. You can use this to see if the books you've read, have been sorted.
Where you originally put your book in our planning spreadsheet, may have been moved somewhere else in the official spreadsheet.

**TASK**
If you could all please go through all the books you've read and put them into classes first (if they fit). If they don't, please highlight in pink (in the 'add your books here tab' in the planning spreadsheet) so we can sort them into spells.
We'd also appreciate you writing all the appropriate letters for books in the 'Add your book here' tab in the planning spreadsheet so we can match appropriately to spells. This includes character names and series titles.

I'm asking this because it will be easier on Halli and me to match the books you've read to the appropriate classes. We can't see all book covers, or know the plot of all books and the character names.

I have my exams on Monday and Tuesday so I might not be on as much because I should be studying and not getting distracted by Goodreads so much.

So, could you all have done this before Sunday 10th of June? You can let us know when you've sorted your books by posting here. If you need more time (like our Quidditch players might), let us know.

We would really appreciate it.

P.S. Charms and Transfiguration - for one task to count, two people need to complete it e.g. two people to read a book each to complete the mending charm.

P.P.S. If you want a book moved from spells to classes and vice versa, let us know that you've moved it so we can adjust on the official spreadsheet.

Thanks guys!!
