Oh, that is miserable. 100 degrees, and then a fever on top of it. Where do you live that it is so hot? I'm up in Vermont, and tomorrow the weather promises to get cooler.

I've gotten behind in my reading. I can get the O book done by Thursday too.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Fall colds going to sinus infections are no fun.

Phew. I feel like reading is kind of a sport now! I love it.

This event is called the Brooklyn Book Festival in NYC. Yes! There are many vendors for books - and all of the books are available for purchase. My bag was a bit heavy on the flight home...... I hadn't really heard of book festivals before I saw this one. I'll have to keep my eyes open for others.

I saw these authors: Nafissa Thompson-Spires, Angie Cruz, Courtney Maum, NK Jemisin, P.Djeli Clark, Namwali Serpell, Novuyo Rosa Tshuma, Marlon James, Ted Chiang (one of my favorite speakers, but I have not yet read his stories. Gotta do that...), Mark Doten, Jenny Han, Mary HK Choi, Laura Sebastian, and Joyce Carol Oates. I was excited as I used this reading challenge to read a few of these authors and then I got to see them - like a dream come true! I was an almost 50 year old fangirl. :) Have you been to a book festival before? This was my first event.

It was the best! You must put this on your list of life adventures :) My favorite was just how many people were there, loving books and authors. For one panel, there was a line around an entire block to get in, and they had to turn people away. It was amazing!

Thanks!
