35559 Can you guys remind me where the countdown clock is for round 1? I can never remember. I know we have started, but I was trying to figure out when this round 1 finishes. Thanks!!

35559 That sounds good. Does the 50 extra points for safe zone 1 make it better than safe zone 2? Or good enough at least.

35559 Although it does look like we would get more points for Safezone Group 2. I'm pretty flexible. I have a ton of YA books I should read, being a teacher and all, so I could probably find a match for some of those. I could also go with SafeZone 1 or 3, or whichever combination. I can be wicked competitive, or super chill :) I'm malleable like lava :)

35559 Sounds good. There are two yous in the categories- for spelling it out. Are there better options to maximize points?

35559 I might change my 2 task to The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America as that is what our mystery club is reading for September.
Are we going to try for another challenge after the ACID part? Just getting my books lined up on the shelf for Monday :)

35559 For The Floor is Acid, task 7, I have a book which has different reads on the tin eye depending on which image I choose from a Google search of images of the book cover. Some of the editions come up brown, others are black. I used the image from the Goodreads site, and it comes up as 67% black. If I link that page to our spreadsheet, and will be good?

Us Versus the Volcano read it.

35559 I'll snoop a bit and see what other teams read - see if something strikes my fancy for SafeZone 1

35559 I'll take 2, 5 and 7.
2 - The Woman Warrior
5 -Alabama Moon
7 - One Crazy Summer(or if I get super ambitious, Black Leopard, Red Wolf - but then no housework will get done...)

35559 I just finished The Word for World is Forest by Ursula LeGuin for the U.

Phew. I fell asleep twice while reading it. Sort of thick in the philosophy. I will finish Inkling tomorrow.

35559 For next round that is. #7 was a fun one to figure out! Not many books are black on the cover! So many greys and purples...
Aug 21, 2019 06:31PM

35559 I have found a book for 7 and for 5. I could do both. I also know of books for 2,3,and 4 - but I should probably just do 2 - 3 books.
