Note: Alyana, your book also works for that prompt, but it has more options, so seems good to use Charanyas here - that was my thinking anyway :)

@Renata - can you put in the specifics for CAVE in text and character uses a sword? So cool that books works for 4 tasks.

I turned in Sirens and we got another one of these. At least the prompts are easier than some. She seems to love us!

Echidna



Echidna aka the Mother of Monsters has been spotted on your lands. Hard to kill and looking for some quality "me time".

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 350 and 450 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book with CAVE in text.
3.) Read a book where a character uses a sword.
4.) Author name (first and last) contain all the letters in HERA
5.) Read a book where a MC is a mother

I'll be finished with the rope book this morning sometime.

I would have been faster but I was doing the theater stuff for 3 days and that was pretty all-consuming. But I only have about 50 pages left.

No each book can only be used for one open monster, darn it!

Oh, and I just noticed Crowbones is #8 in The Others series. I marked that and Kraken is done, but I have to leave - granddaughter has her first Lion King performance.

Oh also Renata can you give the example of character goes swimming on the spreadsheet? That's so wonderful you had a super long book done already to help with that first Typhon.

@Renata, can you put Thunderhead on your tower team shelf? I suspect it's not there because you just finished today, but thought I'd mention it here just in case.

Kraken



The Kraken has been seen in the sea depths near you land, destroying ships on a whim. If defeated, you will always wonder how you managed to survive. May be searching for Andromeda or Pegasus, he's a bit bitter they got away.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book 800 pages or longer.
2.) Read a book with a ship on the cover (spaceship allowed because Mods can be benevolent too).
3.) Read a book where the Author name (first or last) starts and ends with the same letter (e.g., Andromeda)
4.) Read a book where a character goes swimming
5.) Read a book that has an 8 in the series number (e.g., #8, #18, #0.8)

I'll try to get at least one of my two books done today. If anyone ends up with a ZEUS or rope book that's faster, feel free to take that task.

Lamia



The Lamia has been spotted on your lands and the disappearances of children are on the rise. Requires some planning and moderate effort to defeat, look to the stars for the answers and to the shadows for the monster.

2.) Read a book with the night sky on the cover.
3.) Read a book where someone is kidnapped.
4.) Read a book that features a prophecy.
5.) Read a book where a child (under age 18) is an important part of the plot.

Cerberus



Cerberus has decided to take a jaunty run through your lands before returning to the underworld. He's very hard to defeat, don't let those 6 puppy dog eyes fool you. May want to bring some milk bones and tennis balls.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 500 and 650 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book where a funerary celebration/service takes place.
3.) Read a book with MPG Music.
4.) Read a book with a musical instrument on the cover.
5.) Read a book that is #3 in a series.

Oh Zuzana - I see you just finished that Empress book. That's great. I've started nothing yet - it's just crisis after crisis here. So maybe let's do Sirens without using Rolling in the Deep - we can save that for if we get them again.

I will be back in a little and can turn them in if one of the others hasn't. My keyboard got broken this morning and I just noticed the control key still doesn't work, which makes copying and pasting problematic. So I'm going to fool around with it a little.

We have company coming for dinner and I need to clean house. I'll listen to Rolling in the Deep for the 4 sirens tasks while I clean. If I remember correctly, that leaves cover with a rope.

Our two new monsters are Typhon and Mares of Diomedes. So we currently have active:
Typhon x 2
Mares x 2
Empusa (awaiting eyes other than my sleepy ones looking at the meaning of "suburb")
