Leslie, LOL!! When I went to the library, after a long, long time, I had the same feeling.

I love too! I really should control my re-reading. And Leslie, you should totally read & - two of my top favorite of Linda Howard's. There are a few books (of hers) which didn't hold up after re-reading but these two still remain the same. If I remember correctly, LK also has it listed as her favorites.

And did you say creepy? Which book is that?

And now I have to go back to sliding. I wish I could get better at that. *Sigh*

It was. But you should try it out, Karen if you like the premise. You might end up loving it!

Huh.. I'm not sure I'd like to have my DNA tested - most of mine comes from my dad anyway. I'm *almost* a carbon copy of him.

I had a library trip yesterday before getting house arrested for the next few days. They had a few new copies of books all gleaming and shiny calling out to me. Those new copies I picked up: (and the last two will be re-reads but I couldn't resist)

I finished - it was ok. There's mostly rave reviews about this one but I was in the minority. It actually looked right up my alley but I just couldn't get into the story or the main character.

Also finished re-reading - this has one of the best (or is worst?) doormat h I've ever met but somehow Howard's writing make me love the h, H , the setting and story. One of my favorite of Howard's. The other includes After the Night

I'm not sure if or work for the Captain's Challenge. Will leave it to Chris.

It depends on the genre and if the author is a one I've read previously. YA book reviews are almost always gushing with loads of GIFs and the top ones area almost always 5 stars. In those cases, I don't trust GR rating but go instead to a friend's review. Especially one with whom you know your tastes match. And then, if an author is one I've previously read and found it ok, then I'll take all the reviews/ratings with a pinch of salt. Almost all other genres, I generally take a peek at the reviews rather than rating.

I was so sure some pages were missing. Then I had to re-read again. Still, when you don't want the book to finish and it finishes in such abrupt manner, it's annoying.

For the Captain's challenge, I finished (using alt cover) - It was awesome. I've been meaning to read this book for a long, long time but I was hesitant about a Quaker h (I know nothing about that sect). Maddy was irritating and I love how the author managed to turn around Christian that you are rooting for him at the end. In the end, the romance was so good that I had to forgive Maddy. One of the best historicals I've ever read.

Also finished; : A perfect continuation from the above. I thought it would be light and fluff but halfway through it didn't. And it was an issue I never thought I'd actually see in a Romance Novel. So apart from the H/h, the h's step-mother, Layla is a kick-ass person. From the books I've read in this series, I think this was the best.

Note: Both covers have face of the protagonists (assumption)

And thus ends my historical kick. I need me some contemporary/fantasy.

Karen, the only major issue I had with E&P is the ending - it was a little too abrupt for my taste. Other than that, I loved it.

Teresa, that's cute!!

I finished - it is a good addition to the series. Though there was this one scene in the beginning which made me LOL, it picked up well. Gin irritated me more in this book but I'm looking forward to the next book.

Also finished - I was a little hesitant in picking this up but it was a good fluff and time pass. Also starting , from that series.
