Thanks Rosina, must have missed it.

Thanks Rachel.

Thanks Ashley, I'm pretty sure that was the one you had to participate in the BotM discussion, did you do that too?

Tory - Over The Top and All Quiet on the Western Front for Find the Missing Elf.
Andrea - Ready Player One for Find More Paint (Yellow) and All the Light We Cannot See for New Stuffing and Fabric.
Rachel - A Feast for Crows for New Rails, but I think you switched to The Eye of the World?
Ashley - Maplecroft for Paint Remover.
Rosina - purple book for Find More Paint.
Thanks team!

Cylons have trouble with normal conversation. ;)
You guys act like it's an unending pot of gold. It came from a dragon not leprechauns, sillies! We have to draw the line somewhere. N. Fluenza is good but I don't get the family discount from him. I was thinking we could unleash Tryp Tophan (technically Terrence Tophan the Third but we call him Tryp) on all the teams and you could take a little 2-3 week post turkey nap thus allowing us to surge ahead. The point is moot anyway, unfortunately I hear Rachel spent the money on hookers and blow. She needs something to keep up her insane BR schedule. :*
5 Days of Who is a completely valid distraction.

Don't worry Tea, hitmen don't work holidays. :D"

I keep thinking about reading that book Rachel, but I read the first book of the prequel to that series (I've forgotten the name) and I was bored out of my skull. People keep saying City of Bones is better, but then people told me Twilight was well written and that I'd love Gone Girl, so people sometimes lie.

Don't worry Tea, hitmen don't work holidays. :D

So hitman on Thundercats? :P Excellent plan.

My Christmas tree is a quilted wall hanging because of my animals. I can't imagine what they'd do with a book tree. It's very cool though.
I'm not surprised that Legend doesn't hold up. I'm having trouble thinking of movies from that era that do.... Airplane! maybe? And I still love Dirty Dancing with an unholy and unexplainable passion although now I do realize how stupid it is. But "That was the summer we went to Kellermans" and Jerry Orbach and "I carried a watermelon" and beige irridescent lipstick and the unbearable tightness of Patrick Swayze's pants. Speaking of tight pants, Rachel - Firefly is my favourite TV show ever. Space western is clearly the greatest genre on earth and they had the best cast ever put together. I seriously haven't forgiven Fox for killing my lovely, lovely show. I love my show almost as much as Captain Tightpants himself does.
Also, David Tennant was my least favourite Doctor ever. I adored Eccleston as Nine and while I was open to giving Tennant a chance, he killed the character for me in a very minor and specific way that no one but me probably cares about, so I will just say that I stopped watching then. I've been meaning to go back and catch up on the Matt Smith years and apparently now there is someone new, but I just don't have the time.
Also I read nothing again today, but I did triple the normal take at my store, so I am happy I was too busy to read. And tonight I had to watch Canada massacre Slovakia at the Juniors. Sorry Slovakians, but it was awesome. :D

I'm sorry you're surprised Joi, but I'm pretty sure they have a two week cut off and you didn't post here for longer than that. I'm sure it's not irreversible if you have more time to co-captain now.
Finished two books yesterday and two books today, all 20 pts. I have no desire to read any of the BotM or BRs that are going on right now, and I've decided that forcing myself to read books I don't want to read especially over the holidays would ruin the fun of this challenge - so nope.

Last time she posted here or anywhere on GR was November 30th, last book she posted read was December 9th and she hasn't responded to your PM in several days ... I think we can be forgiven for thinking she has abandoned the challenge. Probably she thought it was temporary and then life (as it does) snowballed.
We're doing fine however even with half-assed participation, so I don't suppose it matters. I think I'm burnt out on group challenges. This is the only one I'm in with any group participation at all, and it is less than half our numbers most of the time. Time for another GR break I think.
Anyway, finished Cross Bones for 20 pts this morning. I'm going to head to the library and get a bunch of light, fluffy, possibly holiday themed books to ease me back into reading. :D Too many nightmares about being trapped underground lately, I need to lighten up my brain.
Have a great weekend all.

At least she logged in a couple of books this month.

Hope you have a great Christmas Rosina. I'm always curious as to what normal people think is "up north" so I'm wondering where you are going. If I drove 12 hours north I'd be doing the last 8 of them by snowmobile because the roads end 4 hours from me. :D There would probably be polar bears though, so that would be cool.
Back to work today so I should have a book or two to add to our list tonight. Have an excellent Friday all.

I've been in a bit of a book slump lately too, just not in the reading mood. I'm sure we'll snap out of it soon though.
Should have 20 pts done later tonight and I'm chipping away at my giant book.

Alices progression is starting to take its toll on John.
[ It was so sweet that he stayed to run with he even though he hates running. I got choked up when he came home with the movies. Now he seems to be losing patience. He is avoiding running with her. I feel for him though. It is hard to transition from lover to carer. It puts a whole different dynamic on a marriage. He would be going through a continual grief process. I don't want to judge him. you don't know how you will cope in a situation like this until you are in it. (hide spoiler)] "
I didn't like John much either, but it is impossible to guess how hard being a caregiver is until it happens. Caring for someone with Alzheimer's is NOTHING like caring for a toddler, which is the most common comparison I have heard from people who are guessing. Completely different! My mother and I shared caregiving duties for my grandmaman for 4 years - 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
Explaining how hard it is to someone who isn't doing it is near impossible and the tendency to turn into a martyr is hard to avoid. Something always seemed to happen if you took even an hour off. When we finally needed a break, we brought her to stay with my aunt who has 6 daughters who all promised to help. We explained things until we were blue in the face, wrote schedules and tips and still she had fallen within 24 hours, broken her hip, was hospitalized and spent the next 3 years rapidly deteriorating in hospice. It is hard not to feel desperately guilty.
The disease makes me so angry and I totally understand Alice's plan to kill herself. I'm going to wander out into the winter woods and lie down and fall asleep. It seems a logical plan to me, especially as I don't have a daughter and granddaughter to take care of me.
