That's a big book. I'm forcing my way through right now and while it is interesting, it is hard to read. And every other person is named Thomas. :)

I usually read about 100 pages an hour, but I'm averaging about half that for this one.

Some books seem endless don't they. :)

Best of luck Kari. I just added two cats to my house on Tuesday. Since there were already two cats in it, it's been an interesting time - lots of hissing. :D But no all out warfare so I consider it a success.

I used To Kill a Mockingbird for something else, but I read The Cold Dish which is on your read shelf Danielle.

I'm glad this book is over, I found it very uneven - slow at the beginning, with an interesting part in the middle and then I just was rushing to get it over with, not because it was upsetting as many people found it, because it was just ridiculous enough that I was bothered and then bored. There were also too many throw-away people and events for my liking. One of the questions about yelling at the book makes me laugh, because I was more likely to say "HUH?" or "WHAT?" or "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" as I was reading. :D

This is the second of Slaughter's stand alone books I have read. It was certainly better than Cop Town which I hated with a passion, but I won't make an effort to find any more of her books.

Sorry you're not feeling well Sarah-jane, hope you are better soon or at least well enough to read. :D

The Alpine Advocate and The Titan's Curse both have series on the first page. P.S. If I'm driving you nuts just tell me to bug off - I'm super bored at work and I got my internet to work. :D

Dead Man's Folly was a made for TV movie that I saw eons ago (I checked IMDB to be sure). The Titan's Curse and Hope to Die both had movies made about the series, though not specifically those books.

It's slightly better than the book (which I didn't like at all) but I mainly just like Vivien Leigh swanning around at the beginning.
