I saw in your “bad” reccs where you said “if this is part of a mini-challenge, just don't read my books”. Lol."I felt people deserved the PSA. :D
I can't wait to start! I think I'm going to begin with
and
and see which one grabs my initial interest more. And of course, our first BOM.

I did another challenge where they asked us for bad books. We didn't have to read the books nominated, but we had to pick books to tie into that bad nomination. Maybe we'll get something like that?

Getting through the William Goldman parts was a chore. Then again, I read this about...12 years ago....so maybe I'd be more forgiving now)"Probably not. I tried reading it again a few years ago and I feel exactly the same way about the Goldman parts.

Hello, Allison from Team Ira.
I had to look through books to see what I hated enough to post a review about, because usually I just dislike it and move on. Turns out I have a theme (and it's not just purple), here are my reviews.

Zero stars. Negative stars.
If this is typical New Adult, I'm never reading the genre again.
Can I just say something to young people. If you have ever said anything along these lines - "I hate how I act/talk when I'm with him", "I'm not myself when we are together", "I hate myself since we got together" - you are in an abusive relationship. I don't care how much you "love" or "need" him. I don't care if he used to be wonderful. I don't care if he is sweet occasionally. Leave him, don't have a baby with him, don't go back because he says he has changed. Just don't. This should have been a cautionary tale. Instead apparently it's okay if he is mean, violent and a liar - there's probably a good reason. Bullshit.

I'm not done this book yet and honestly I'm not sure if I will finish, but I wanted to post a quick Public Service Announcement for young people reading this. If someone acts like an asshole to you 99.9% of the time and is sweet for only a few seconds at a time, he/she is not a good person and you shouldn't fall in love with them. I don't care if they have A REALLY IMPORTANT SECRET, or A REALLY IMPORTANT JOB TO DO or their childhood was REALLY REALLY HARD! If they don't treat you well they will never magically change. I realize this is fiction and I realize it is fantasy but it's a disturbing trend in YA and I wish it would go away.
Also Gemma is useless, why are we supposed to root for someone who is too stupid to live.
Final also, and I quote, "I know we're not supposed to get close to her, but still... it's called tack."
No, no it's not. It's called tact. Crack a dictionary occasionally.
*EDIT* I did finish because I needed it for a challenge, but it didn't get better. The spelling and word usage got worse and it ended on a cliffhanger that doesn't even remotely make me want to read the next book.Ooh, I found something else to hate.

A terrible book. I completely blame Janet Evanovich for this trend of rude, miserable, mean, nasty, horrible, ugly people masquerading as kooky and fun. There's over the top and then there is stupid and every character in this book is stupid.
I finish 99.9% of my books. I have read plenty that started out not-so-great and turned into fantastic, so I give them all a chance. This should have been one of the ones I didn't bother with.Seriously, if this is part of a mini-challenge, just don't read my books. Please don't. :D

Oh well indeed. I figured if it was listed as a book on GR, it was considered a book. So I have added to the rules of the challenge in a negative way. Sorry web serials, no TT for you. :D

(as if we ever would)"I too read the book for BOM points and spent the entire book rooting for a horrible train derailment to just kill
EVERYONE. The only way the book could have been saved IMO.
Kerri wrote: "The first thing that popped into my head was The Eye of the World. I'll have to take a look!"Thanks Kerri. It's on my list for this challenge. I plan to get to it in November. There's just some debate as to the cover being blue enough, so it may or may not be a SIN BINGO.

In other news: @Allison, unfortunately the Mods said no to the long web serial. Edition has to be available for “offline readin..."Congrats Frankie. I'm glad we get the points without me having to write questions. :D
Well drat Alysa. That seems random. How is it different from an ebook?

Thanks Joanne. Just E titles for now. And how I can not read something titled
Exit, Pursued by a Bear and compared to Veronica Mars, I just don't know. :D

Even driving, I can only listen to books I've already read, so when I zone out and come back, I have an idea of what is happening.
So I'm looking for recommendations. :D I seem to have run out of E titles and since my favourite challenges are the super-long spell-it-out ones, I always need E titles. Long books that would work for this challenge would be great. Series with multiple E titles would also be awesome. I generally dislike gorey horror, books about animals and bookcovers with naked male torsos, but will read pretty much anything. Any ideas? Thanks in advance team.

Nope, no audiobooks for me unfortunately. I hate them, just can't concentrate and 99% of the narrators drive me nuts. But I can drag things to the dumpster with one hand while holding a book with the other. :D Didn't say I'd be efficient, but when you're the boss you can take your time.

It's been raining for days here and is supposed to keep raining until the challenge actually starts, then they are predicting gorgeous fall weather. Typical. :D Next Monday I'll probably be wandering around the property cleaning up with a book in my hand.

Sounds good to me.

Hello captains - I see we have a books read thread. So, do you want us to just post our finished books there and not in the spreadsheet, or would you prefer those of us that are spreadsheet savvy post directly to it?
Alysa wrote: "BTW, @Allison:
Another vote came in in Captains Group on The Eye of the World being a blue cover. So... go for it, I guess?"Thanks Alysa. I read the first page of all my long books to see what I'd want to start with, and honestly I'm not in the mood for that one right now. So I'll save it for later in the challenge.

I signed up for both the DQs (not the Backroom because I know that trying to write questions for that book would make me crazy) :) but I truly don't care about the questions, I just assume one more name in the Team Ira hat is a good thing.

Hi and welcome Rebecca!

So what is everyone reading until the challenge starts? I've been zooming through a bunch of short cozy mysteries to cleanse my palate for all the doorstops I want to read for points. :D

I'd be happy to read nothing but space opera books, but I'm pretty sure they're all under 400 pages and therefore our points will suffer. :)
I forgot about enraging - I could read nothing but YA with love triangles, again those are mainly shorter books. :D
