35559 Added Death by Rhubarb (Heaven Lee, #1) by Lou Jane Temple to the spreadsheet. Works for PREST and the quote for PRESENTS is on page 80 and listed there too.

35559 Finished #4 and another book, added the letters on the spreadsheet. I'm reading a book now for "presents" in the text, will be done tomorrow afternoon for sure. I definitely have time for at least one more if anyone can't get to a claimed book.

Yup, I can definitely do that.

35559 Finished my shelter dog book - Unleashed (Sydney Rye #1) by Emily Kimelman - MC adopts her dog Blue from the shelter. Letters are PRESN.

I'm in town tomorrow and lots of waiting room time, so I should finish Eden's Outcasts The Story of Louisa May Alcott and Her Father by John Matteson by end of day.

If anyone needs to give up a task, let me know. I should have time for 2-3 more books. Otherwise I'll just read for letters. :D We are kicking ass and taking names this week!

35559 Full Cry ("Sister" Jane, #3) by Rita Mae Brown Added my black boots book to the spreadsheet - works for REST. Think I'll read a rescue dog book next if that's okay. Looks like it is still open and I have one where the MC adopts a dog from a shelter on page one. :D

35559 Okay, I'm going to read that one next. I also found books for snow, belt, stray, dog on cover and I'm still looking for BBQ. :) But I will read one at a time as needed.

No worries. Just wanted to give you as many options as possible. I finished the religious book and added it to the spreadsheet. I'm still chipping away at my non-fiction book for green on cover, but I need another to read in tandem. Does this look like it would work for black boots? On the paperback the riding boots are a lot more obvious, but they are hard to see on GR. Full Cry ("Sister" Jane, #3) by Rita Mae Brown

Sorry Suzanne, the task was open the last time I looked. You can leave your book there if you like. Mine will work for under 201 pages also.

35559 I have to read The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom for another challenge and it seemed like a book that might be tagged religious, so I checked and yes it is. 85 users

35559 Added two finished books to the spreadsheet.

Blood Pact (Vicki Nelson, #4) by Tanya Huff for ESNT and 8 in the number of pages
Death of a Dapper Snowman (Stormy Day Mystery Book 1) by Angela Pepper for PRST and the top hat on cover

Anyway - I'm putting those in there :)"

I love searching for books to match tasks. Unfortunately I sometimes do too much of that and too little of the actual reading. :) However, I think I found a top hat book. Death of a Dapper Snowman (Stormy Day Mystery Book 1) by Angela Pepper It's hard to see in the tiny picture, but there is a small snowman wearing a black top hat on the table to the right of the cat.

35559 Well I'm home much earlier than planned. I have a couple of books for the mini-challenge.

Blood Pact (Vicki Nelson, #4) by Tanya Huff - 4 or more items of clothing mentioned (I found shirt, pants, jacket and robe just by flipping through)

Blood Debt (Vicki Nelson #5) by Tanya Huff - brown cover between 301 and 500 pages (330 pages)

Eden's Outcasts The Story of Louisa May Alcott and Her Father by John Matteson - more than 500 pages with a green item on cover (leaves)

They all work for at least a couple of letters of PRESENTS.

Christmas Tasks"

That's great Suzanne. Sorry I hadn't thought to check the real spreadsheet, just the tracking one. :D

Added my last two books to the spreadsheet. They work for R and E. I have to head out now, so I won't get anything else done for REINDEER, but I'll find some PRESENTS books when I get home. Hope everyone has a great day.

35559 I will be done my Reindeer in title book tonight and another book that works for E tomorrow. I think that will be it for me this week, unless the dreaded insomnia hits again.

Are we going to have a spreadsheet for the mini-challenge or somewhere where we can see what hasn't been claimed?

35559 If he isn't a main character then maybe a Mrs. Murphy book would work? Tee Tucker is a corgi who is considered a main character, she talks and everything (though the humans don't understand her). I have a bunch of the books on my shelves and they are fast reads. She isn't a shelter dog though and is never on the cover.

35559 Why are Christmas books always so short? Less than 150 pages almost always.

And my usual question, after I've been looking at free kindle books, what in the world is a "Forever Baby"? Are the babies in romance novels generally only temporary? It's just so very very odd.

35559 The mini-challenge looks like fun. It seems like books have to be read during the week though, they can't be started early. Is that true captains?

35559 If Lisa has a PRESENTS genre then I definitely vote for that one. Nice to have a few new letters to read for, even if none of them are the tough letters.

35559 None of the other teams have RED, GREEN or PRESENTS this week so I did a quick genre check. I thought presents would be easiest, but nope. Presents and present are both near impossible to find (except for Harlequin romances for some reason). Red is also difficult, I found one YA and one Isaac Asimov novel that work. Green has lots of environmental book options and also the author Jane Green works for quite a few. Just my two cents on our decision.

Please note, I didn't check every book marked for genre, but I skipped around the pages and checked the ones with fewest ratings to see what worked.
