35559 Finished my first bad book and yep, it was bad. I've managed to lose my list of long bad books, so I'll have to redo it and figure out what will work for adjective.

35559 Well I just finished reading The Knife of Never Letting Go and yep, definitely a bad book. My hatred for written dialect knows no bounds.

35559 I've been looking for a free copy of the Mr. Darcy book, but no luck so far. I guess I could try that free trial of Scribd, if they offer it to Canadians.

35559 Finished one of today's books and I will finish the second one before the deadline. Then I will stop, because I intend to read solely bad recommendations for Week 5 and I can't start those until 2 p.m. :D

35559 Page 327 - "When my father, the Padishah Emperor, heard of Duke Leto's death and the manner of it, he went into such a rage as we had never before seen."

Having given you that I'm pretty sure Duke Leto dies because of poison. :) But the amazon preview doesn't have that page.

It's been years since I read it, but I'm pretty sure there's poison somewhere.

Also I found the phrase "into such a rage" don't know if that is close enough.

35559 Actually The Tommyknockers will probably make a later week, because I can't see in working in the story. However, I read it years ago and thought it was okay. At least it was written before King stopped writing endings. :)

35559 Okay. I'll find a short mystery for tomorrow. And I've made a list of the longest bad books to read for the next few weeks. Hope they are the kind of bad books that I will like :D And I can't wait to see if anyone reads the books I chose, that I specifically begged people not to touch.

35559 I finished one book this morning, I should be done my 800 pager tonight and I have one short book for another challenge that will be done by the deadline. I can probably add another short book if we need it.

Changed my vote too, why not get some extra points for an already read book. :D

35559 I haven't read anything on the list, so tell me what I should vote for so we can all read it. :)

Pretty sure you can't get any points for the BOM unless you can read it during the challenge.

35559 Sorry you had such a crappy day Jessi. Let's hope tomorrow is nothing but smooth sailing.

35559 We are that serious about our BOMs. :) We even spend money on them!!!!

35559 Yay for more DQs, thanks Jessi!

I haven't particularly liked any of the BOMs so far. Hope springs eternal for the November options, although Nordic Noir and YA aren't particular favourites either. :D For the points though, I can suffer through pretty much anything.

I'm enjoying my first book of the week, so that is always good. Glad to be reading some mysteries again.

It starts on Saturday, so I'm planning on reading it near the end of the week. Since I didn't volunteer for DQs, it's not so important that I remember every little detail. :)

Be aware though, that since points are so tight with Teams Acedia and Lust, they're going to be gunning for first place... Hard!

Longer books are still the goal!

Me too. :D

35559 Way to go team. Another fantastic week for us. I have picked out a bunch of longer books with the proper MPG and I'm just going to read and see what they will work for as I finish them. Not much time for planning this week. :D

35559 We will be right at our max 45 books if the last two on the spreadsheet are finished before deadline. Quite a bump from last week!
