yeah i think i removed 25 or 30 books from my tbr for this because i've had to dip into a few books from 2017 to fill out my challenge since i apparently ran out of 2016 ones lol but i pick up a lot of kindle freebies as like impulse 'purchases' and then two years later i'm looking at them like why on EARTH did i add that????

finished!i think the most important question of the entire book is: would you eat one of marcia's chicken and strawberry sandwiches? lol someone makes fun of toby bc she is still eating them in the newest book and i forgot that they were marcia's fault. i'll be honest, it sounds gross but also like mildly intriguing so i would probably try it. also i like to put peanut butter and jelly in grilled cheese so i feel like i don't REALLY have much room to judge [blame my dad!].
anyway, definitely never a dull moment in this book, especially with the final few chapters. (view spoiler)
also sometimes i forget which order things come in but quentin's parents haven't been revealed yet, right? because i definitely didn't guess who they were my first time through but there are sooo many clues on this reread that i'm noticing, as well as clues to tons of other future plotlines. seanan really had this stuff planned out. i'd be interested to hear people's theories on quentin's family if they have them, although i can't really respond to say whether you're right or not without spoiling it lol but it would be cool if someone guessed right

ok i read chapters 11-22 today. it's hard to say too much about this book before getting to the end though because of how much stuff goes down. i will say it's interesting how little time has passed so far in this book. i mean i think it's been literally a day since the start of the book at this point and so much stuff has happened! it just really stood out to me because i read book 12 recently and it was pretty much the same way.

i haven't been able to get that much reading done the past few days either but i'm hoping to make some more progress on this today

haha oh don't worry i'm not one to get into fights over ships or anything like that. and i mean i don't dislike connor and i don't think he's 'bad' for her or anything, but he was always just more like scenery to me than an actual character *g* still, she could do a LOT worse considering some of the other love interests i've seen in urban fantasy booksalso yes i love that quentin is officially her squire now! and that sylvester and quentin were both like ready to fight her to make her agree to it lol *everyone around toby dragging her reluctant ass into having friends and relationships*

i read chapters 1-10 today. gotta agree that i love when tybalt works a case with toby, especially because at this point he's basically gone from being an antagonistic asshole to following her around asking her if she needs help with anything lmao. boy's got it bad. not that there's anything wrong with connor but i just find him so boring lol

i was thinking about starting it today but i might start tomorrow morning instead, good to know you're enjoying it so far and yeah the selkie thing will come up later, although i don't remember if it's in this book or further down the line
Sep 08, 2018 06:32PM
haha that is how i think both of us felt about the first book and then this book ended up being twice as long and we just couldn't stand it. maybe you will have better luck though
Sep 08, 2018 03:59PM
yeah that one has been on my tbr for awhile so i will definitely check it out at some point. and also NOT read the next book in this series whenever it comes out lol
Sep 08, 2018 04:46AM
@Jessi i'm gonna put this behind a spoiler cut in case but it's not really spoilery if you've finished the book, re: what toby actually is (view spoiler)

ok i will request the thread for the 15th then. i'm totally fine with reading them at that pace but it did seem like people were a bit tired from tower teams so i didn't know if we wanted to push it back or if we were basically recovered lol. also i literally read book 12 the other day when it came out and it's still just 'here are some answers but also EVEN MORE QUESTIONS' like seanan you are an evil genius WHY lol
Sep 06, 2018 04:22PM
do you guys want to do the next one on the 15th or wait until the beginning of october? i only ask because i noticed the thread this time around was a little quiet so i thought people might be getting burnt out lol
Sep 05, 2018 05:30AM
@claudia lmao i read book 12 yesterday and this entire series is just 'tons of answers but EVEN MORE QUESTIONS' like seanan you're killing me!and i'm so excited for quentin's background to finally be revealed although i don't actually remember when that happens so it might be awhile. it's definitely making the reread interesting to me because there are a lot of clues dropped that i totally missed the first time around [noticing that with a lot of things actually]. although i don't think raysel actually knew who he was, i think she was just talking shit lol
Sep 03, 2018 10:32AM
@Cathy yeah it's a basically a really big deal because (view spoiler)i finished up this morning and yeah this book has a lot of big reveals in it so definitely an important book in the series.
also re: the whole connor / toby / tybalt like i don't want to say too much bc i don't want to spoil the future books but god i will be so happy when 'fight over toby' time is over lol i mean it's definitely not as unbearable as love triangles in other series but i'm still like y'all need to chill
LOTR tower teams would be soooo good. is tower teams always based on a book series or do you do other themes as well? this was my first one.
