I feel like I'm reading in slow motion! I have sooo many unfinished books. Usually I wouldn't care, but now I feel like everyone is waiting on me!
Still having fun, though. I spend a lot of reading time surfing around GR or looking for books to fit a certain challenge because it's more interactive than actually doing the reading...
It's a rainy/windy weekend so far. Just feeling cozy & staying in this weekend. What is everyone else up to?

I love historical fiction & mysteries most of all.
2: What Genres do you read least, or not at all?
I will read anything. I give a new book 100 pages. If I'm just not feeling it, I'll stop.
3: Are you a reader that reads just about everything, or a select few genres? See #2. :)
4: Has your reading evolved in recent years, or at all?
Most definitely. GoodReads has challenged me to read things I probably never would've picked up before.
5: How do challenges or read-a-thons affect your reading?
I jump around a lot. Even more than usual -- which is saying a lot!
Leprechaun Bonus (4 coins) ~ For answering all Today's Questions.

I am loving it! I've never done anything like this before.
2: Are you enjoying the socializing or the reading more?
I'm definitely enjoy the socializing much more than the reading! It's almost like you're giving us a free pass to get to know one another better -- so we can be as silly or as serious as we like.
3: How many books have you started / completed? Started a bunch, looked for more and finished -- exactly none so far!
4: Are you meeting your goals, or have you abandoned them?
5: Are you enjoying learning about others with the Daily Questions?
Yes. Definitely!
6: Are you enjoying the Daily Recommendations?
Again, yes. I love to share and see what books everyone else has read.
7: Have you done any of the Daily Tasks?
I dutifully recorded them, up to #9 when they mysteriously disappeared!
8: What are your hopes for the 2nd week of the RaT?
More fun, more books!
9: Would you like to see more read-a-thons like this in the future?
Yes, please!
10: What, if anything, would make it better for you?
It's pretty darn near perfect just the way it is!

It's an amazing book and now an overdue library book -- so I want to finish it tonite.

1) I do not drive. I technically can - even standard. I only took the road test one time, but it was an epic fail. My husband likes the control and doesn't like for anyone else to drive. If he could fly a plane, he'd take over, too!
2) I am deathly afraid of all reptiles -- even geckos. I realize that this is an irrational fear, but I have it nonetheless. Thank goodness there are no snakes in Hawaii. I sometimes worry that I'll die of fright if a reptile ever touches me.
3) I LOVE all things Disney!! We used to travel to Disneyland at least once a year, but have curtailed that. We haven't been since 2012 :(. Our family ritual is to ride Peter Pan first -- no matter what else we go on to do that day.
4) I once had over 200 penpals. I know it sounds crazy, but it was such fun. They were all ladies from all over the world. I had to cut back because of rising postage costs, but still keep in touch with some of them. I still write or call my very first penpal, Marie. We are the same age and have been writing since we were just 12 years old.
5) I love the color pink. If I could get away with it, I'd have a pink house with Hello Kitty accessories. Well maybe I'd switch it up with Pooh Bear sometimes... I used to dress myself in pink almost exclusively. Thankfully, I've gotten over that now.
6) My secret dream is to write the great American novel -- or barring that, a great children's book that will stand the test of time. I have a great fear of rejection AND I'm really lazy, too.

1: What is your town/city/state/country like?
I live in Kaneohe on the Island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii, USA. It's beautiful with majestically towering mountains, ocean views. It's more like a sprawling suburb -- very small town. We're just spread out.
2: What is the current weather where you are?
This morning was beautiful, hot & sunny. Right now it's overcast. It rains just about every afternoon & evening for at least a little while. It's very green & pretty.
3: What do you like most / least about you live?
You need do drive at lease 13 miles for decent shopping or a bookstore. We have a lot of fast food places, but only 3 sit-down restaurants.
4: How long have you lived where you reside now?
My entire life!!
5: Where all have you lived?
I'll probably live and die in a 5-mile radius! It's good to travel, but even better to come back home. The sad thing is that when retirement comes, we're going to have to move away if we want to survive...

No Touch Monkey!: And Other Travel Lessons Learned Too Late

1: Beyond Books, what are your hobbies / interests?
Music, movies, games & puzzles, cooking & trying new recipes, going to the beach... I would love to travel the world.
2: What is your favorite fun thing to do, other than read?
Watch a movie on the big screen, but I rarely go to the movies since I discovered Netflix.
3: If you aren't reading, or surfing GoodReads, what would you be doing?
Watching a movie ideally -- but more likely doing laundry!
4: What do you enjoy doing, besides reading, that you don't get to do often enough?
I love the beach, but even in summer we only make it once or twice a week.
5: What things in your life (work, family, ect...) keep you from enjoying your hobbies?
Well, yeah, that work thing is a total bummer! HA! If I had the money I'd take off on a world cruise tomorrow.

Really appreciate it!

I'm still rather new to challenges in general, so it's hard to say. I will say this: the ATW challenge was the first group challenge I joined and my group, Wandering Bibliophiles, is awesome! Everyone was so friendly and helpful right from the start.
2. What challenges would you like to see more / less of?
Still too new to tell. I just need to restrain myself from doing too many at one time.
3.What would make challenges more fun for you?
I am really enjoying this one! I like the idea of the daily questions and getting to know other members a little bit better. As avid readers, I think we tend to isolate ourselves. GR gives us an opportunity to relate to one another and discuss our passion.
4. Not sure about former challenges...
5. Do you have an idea for a challenge that you'd like to share?
Not yet,but I'm sure I will someday!!

I had a strained ulnar nerve some years back. My doctor wanted complete rest for that hand for one week. My husband followed me around watching me so I wouldn't do laundry or write. He even cut up my food for me! Touching, but at the same time very annoying!

Could someone add it to the spreadsheet for me, please?
So... What letters do we still need for Salalah? I'm sure I'll have one, or be able to pick it up tomorrow at the library!
The dentist today was brutal -- I had two fillings and I just hate Novocain! The one good thing about my dentist is that his office is in the Liliha Bakery building. They make these awesome things called coco puffs. They're like cream puffs, but are filled with a milk chocolate pudding and topped with chantilly. Yum-o!
Tomorrow should more than help make up for the bad Saturday --library and a pedicure. :)
