35559 Keli,

Could you please add some info in the reason/alternative tasks columns (K, L)?

It will help us to assign books. Thanks.

For the Mini 1 tasks, we may end up assigning the books as they get finished (so if someone finishes a hard country earlier than me, their books can get assigned while mine can go towards a 2nd itinerary). This is a learning curve for us as well, so we'll be flexible about it. :))

The default edition. If it's big print, then the next one.

35559 Default book edition, unless it's big print, then the one following.

For the BOMs, the Mods set a page count that everyone has to use, no matter their own editions.

Official page count for What the River Knows is 416.

Fiona,

For this once you are excused, but better beware next time. And please give it a month before you announce that you dislike Discworld, too. 😆

Remember a versatile towel often helps too.
Anyway, with all that non fiction, just Don't Panic"

🤭 I'll try not too.

I enjoyed the show so far and am interested to see where they go with it. Murderbot to me is comfort reading, and as you say, things don't need to be deep and meaningful (tm) all the time. Though I find the books manage that at regular intervals, and I won't be surprised if the show does the same.

Yes to Muderbot as comfort reading!!! And if the show delivers for you, that's all that matters. 😊

And reading MB and Discworld is a great way to get into the grove.

My hard country reads are all non-fic, which is perfectly fine, but I will probably need some DW or MB comfort reading in-between. And as May 25th is approaching, I will possibly reread one of my favourite DW books, Night Watch.

35559 Andy,

I agree with your views about this constamt pressure where everything needs to be about something.... whatever it is. 🤭

However, I am of the opinion that there was absolutely no need to put MB on screen. But I hope you are going to like and enjoy it regardless of The Guardian, me or anyone else!!! 😊

Denise,

Your books can be put to good use under Minis 2 & 3 for the nice 10 extra points. And NOONE needs to apologise for their book choices. 😊

Also, I hope you won't find my book rec terrible. 🤞🤞🤞However, feel free to abandon it if that's the case.

35559 I managed to finish my last book before the challenge this morning, but it took me ages, even though it wasn't much over 300 pages, b/c I just wasn't in the mood for it.
(Yes, I totally blame TT. 😆)

I will start with Queens' Play, 2nd book in The Lymond Chronicles (I'm rereading the series) on audio and The Vatican Diaries: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Power, Personalities, and Politics at the Heart of the Catholic Church on my shiny & new Kobo reader.

Teamies,

What books are you planning to start with? 😊

35559 Honestly, I'm avoiding the TV series. I don't want it to interfere with Kevin R. Free's voice and the images in my head. 😊

35559 This is what I could do...

Genghis Khan (Mongolia)
1. 651+
2. takes place in Central Asia (Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) or Mongolia
3. MPG War
4. character goes horse riding
5. takes place in a cold climate (your interpretation)
