I've read through Chapter 4 and am loving this book. It has the same feel as The Peach Keeper which is the only book I've read by Sarah Addison Allen.

I agree about Evanelle. What a interesting gift to have!

I'm through chapter 21 and I agree. The story is getting more interesting the further I read. I like that Rachel is making her spells and making use of her skills. Jenks is my favorite character so far.

I've finished and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great characterization and story.

I'm up to 69% now.

(view spoiler)[Of the three main characters, my least favorite so far is Laura. Her decision to marry Percival didn't make any sense especially since she had a way out. And even though she's been through so much, she just seems so weak. I guess she's a product of her day and her upbringing. But Marian on the other hand is portrayed as very strong and determined. @Skandia -(view spoiler)[One of the best things about this book is the way the characters come to life through Collins' writing. I didn't think I'd like the way the telling of the story went from person to person but it really worked to give the reader the whole picture but through different eyes. The housekeeper's faith in Count Fosco was interesting. It just shows how very persuasive and charming he could be. (hide spoiler)]

@RebeccaS - (view spoiler)[I wonder about Leo/Sammy. Could Leo maybe be Sammy's grandson? Hazel was told that Sammy married and died in the 60's, I believe. I was so glad that Hazel didn't have to go back to the Underworld. And Frank's powers are great! So glad he figured it out at last.

Great! It sounds like we all want to continue with Emerald Green. I could work it in around January 22 if that works for you both. If not, just let me know what works.

As far as limits on physical books, I have no idea what my library's limits are. I usually try to keep it below 12. My library's ebook limit is 5. I get books through Booksfree also so if I can't find a book at my library, I can usually find it there.

I'd like to continue the discussion with Emerald Green too even if we don't get the points.
