DISCUSSION QUESTIONS - January 9
CHAPTERS 19-22

28. What did you think about Aervyn’s spell at the Circle? Did you expect something of that magnitude to occur?
I really had no idea what to expect but no, I didn't expect that!

29. Lauren is now using her powers in her real estate job. Is scanning her client’s thoughts and using what she finds to mind nudge them, ethical use of her powers?
It seems harmless but I'm afraid it would lead to the temptation to do more.

30. Now that Jamie has moved to Chicago to be with Nat, what do you think of their relationship? Is it a good match?
I believe it's a good match but I wonder if Jamie will be happy that far away from his family. Also it seems that being close to Jamie's family would be really good for Nat.

31. Given Jamie runs a website where he and his sister try to locate witches, I was surprised that he didn’t want to go to see the coven? It seemed like a perfect opportunity to locate any potential witches. What did you think of Jamie’s initial reaction to the coven?
I thought the same thing. Jamie had very low expectations and that's pretty much what they found.

32. We have had more time to get to know the characters now and everyone seems super nice. Are there any characters you don’t particularly like?
I like them all, but they are all so nice that it annoys me to some extent.

(view spoiler)[I've enjoyed getting the background on Hazel and Frank. Glad that Frank's father was revealed. Also interesting that Percy had a dream with Annabelle and Grover in it. I'd like to see him reunited with his old gang. I miss those characters. (hide spoiler)]

I'm currently reading two books that fall in the 601-750 range. I should finish at least one of them soon.

CHAPTERS 16-18

24. I loved the way how mind magic can help children with special needs. I think Lauren enjoyed it too. What do you think, will she switch from real estate to this profession?
Lauren was deeply touched by this experience so it may be that she changes to this profession.

25. Helping kids with special needs is first great use for mind magic I noticed so far. Can you think of some other humanitarian purpose where mind magic can be applied?
I guess other medical areas maybe. I wonder about people in comas - could their minds be touched like this?

26. It seems like precog vision of Jamie and Nat is going to come true. What do you think will we see them building that snowman in the epilogue of this book, in the sequel or you don't think HEA for them will happen?
Well, Jamie is planning to move to Chicago so it could happen soon.

27. Wow there are some huge preparations going for that circle. I imagined it to be much smaller gathering. What do you think, will the spell backfire? What will Aervyn do? Change color of all hair in the world to pink or something more serious?
I still haven't got a grip on what exactly they hope to accomplish so I'll just wait to see.

I thought the same thing, Cynthia. Apparently, the title has nothing to do with the book's emphasis.

I've finished.

I really enjoyed this book but have more questions than I did when I started. Apparently the next one picks up right where this one ends.

(view spoiler)[The mystery deepens. So Lucy and Paul saw Count Saint-Germain murder Amber, the first time traveler who was also his ancestor! Couldn't that really mess up the future? At least that explains the Prologue. (hide spoiler)]

And I agree, Rebecca, about authors using similar names that make it really confusing to keep everybody straight. I've found that in a couple of books just recently.

CHAPTERS 13-15

20. I enjoyed the triplet's anecdote about how their parents Nell and Daniel got together. Although the story is light and upbeat it does touch on the moral and ethical question of being a witch. Thoughts?
I think it touches on them but doesn't really address them.

21. Ewwww. Lauren accidently intrudes on Jamie and Nat in an intimate moment. Do you think there are more advantages or disadvantages in being a mind witch?
Disadvantages. I wouldn't want to hear others' thoughts.

22. What is your opinion of Moira and do you think the chat sessions add to the story?
I don't mind the chat sessions. I would like to learn more about Moira.

23. Lauren showed great power at the practise circle. What do you think will happen at the official circle and what do you see for Lauren's character into the future?
It seems the story is setting her up to be a very powerful witch which seems so strange since she didn't have a clue she even was a witch.

Trying to teach her in a few days the things that Charlotte knows after years of training and then acting like Gwyneth is untrainable! I can't decide if I like Gideon or not. Right now I'm not sure who can be trusted. (hide spoiler)]
