35559 I can’t believe there is only three weeks left! I’m currently in the process of reading a 1000 page book, which has been taking a while, however I’m off work this week and hoping to get some major reading done!
35559 I finally got to the chapters with Elhokar and the Chasmfiend. Holy hell that was a tense chapter and I totally see why everyone is frustrated with the Elhokar character. Totally love Dalinar though. Although I find I have to really concentrate while reading this book, Sanderson’s writing is brilliant, I’m totally immersed in his world when I read.

35559 Urghh, I just had to DNF a book, which I hate doing during challenges because I feel like the time already spent on it is wasted, but I just couldn’t stand the thought of devoting another 10 hours of precious time trying to finish it, especially when I was procrastinating picking it back up. Hopefully my next pick will be much better!
35559 I’m about where you are in the book Cat. I’m enjoying it but it’s not a book that I can spend big swathes of time reading. I am really liking the character of Kaladin, i’m really interested in finding out why he ended up in his current situation, I imagine it must be a pretty good back story once it’s finally revealed.

35559 I’m only a few chapters in too, just on Shallan’s first POV chapter. I’m interested to see where the windscpren and Kalarin’s storyline is going.

Have a great time Emma! How old is he?"

Thanks Sandy, he’s turning two. He and his cousin are only three weeks apart in age so we are having a joint two years old birthday for them :)

35559 I’ve got my son’s birthday this weekend, just a quiet one with family, but it will consume most of my Sunday.
35559 I’ve just started it but I don’t know if I could binge read it as I’m finding myself having to really concentrate on what’s going on, especially with timeframe jumps, multiple POVs and unfamiliar naming conventions. I’m not an experienced fantasy reader though, so a little out of my comfort zone. I am enjoying it so far though.

35559 I would love to help out with Quidditch, but as someone who sometimes struggles reading 1 book a week, I won’t be much use for a time sensitive team game unfortunately.

I was thinking a pale brown but you might be right that it’s more beige.

Hi Sandy, I’ve started reading Royal Assassin (Farseer Trilogy, #2) by Robin Hobb which will fit the brown cover, over 500 pages. It will probably take me a little while but it’s a secondary option if your Game of Thrones book works for something else.

35559 I just finished the book, but am looking forward to discussing it with you all once the buddy read starts. I really enjoyed it and have added it to my favourites shelf.

Thanks Laura, I didn’t realise it was a buddy read, will definitely go and discuss.

35559 Did some activities with my son, read some more and cleaned the house. It was a quiet weekend, which is my favourite kind.
