35559 Very wet! Lots of rain here too, so I’ve been listening to my audiobook.
35559 1.) What do you think of the premise of the book, like an aging rock band getting back together to go on tour but an adventuring band instead? Is the author pulling it off so far?
I’m liking it, although I haven’t been comparing them to a rock band in my mind, I just love the idea of these aging warriors with aches and pains and quiet lives getting back out there and adventuring again.

2.) The rocks, may of hit me a bit in the feels. Did it affect your opinion of Gabe at all?
Yeah, that was sad because he was anticipating finding hid daughter dead but at the same time it showed how thoughtful and loving a father he was.

3.) How do you like the world building, is it being done effectively for you without major info dumping? Is it helping to set the stage for the story?
The world building is fine, but for me there’s sway too many mentions of mystical creatures. It’s not world building at the level of Brandon Sanderson, but it’s perfectly ok.

4.) What did you think about the parade? Did anyone else enjoy Clay's reaction to the ladies being whistled at and be disappointed when the lady blew a kiss back instead of skewering the guy (like Clay expected to happen)?
They parade was quite funny, the idea of these crews being lured into the spectacle of it all. I like that Clay was disappointed with the ladies reactions to the whistling.

5.) Do you have a favorite character so far?
Not yet

Bonus: Taking a poll for a very important question. On the Tassel Farm: Centaur or Moose?
Absolutely a moose 😂

35559 Louise, just want to let you know that I can’t link books in the spreadsheet as that functionality is missing on my iPad.

When I finish the book I can post the links in this chat if it helps?

35559 Brandon Sanderson is one of my favourite authors. I’ve got book 5 of the Mistborn series Shadows of Self on the list for reading this challenge.

Warbreaker is probably my favourite of his so far though.

35559 Hi Team,

Here’s my TT shelf TT-2023

I’m in Canberra, Australia and live with my other half and our son.

I will pretty much read any genre, but my faves are sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. I also don’t mind giving classics a go, but definitely find them hit and miss.

Louise, I’m so sorry to hear about your partner, I’m sure your pup has been a great source of comfort for you.
Living in Wales, have you been following all the excitement around Wrexham’s promotion to League 2?

35559 I’m reading Stone Town at the moment, I’ve got the physical book at 409 pages (although 406 if you take out the authors notes, etc at the end).

It was released this year so there are only two options on GR - a paperback at 352 pages and a Kindle. I’m not sure why the option for paperback has the wrong page number, but is someone a GR librarian and able to change it to the correct amount - 50+ pages is a big difference!

35559 I can read Stone Town by Margaret Hickey for a brown cover.

For some reason I can no longer edit the SS. Could someone add the above book for me? The main characters name is Mark Ariti, so can go against the A.

I think mine has been lost off the ss in the shuffle - I’m sure I included it at the start.

Apologies for not being active, I have had a virus infection since last week and recovery takes longer than I hoped. :("

Great, I has Malibu Rising lined up to read next and it’s been tagged queer 47 times. I’ll find a spot for it in the spreadsheet.
