This time round it's all things music, but music specific elements will be strictly optional only!
I think we are all old hand at the game, so whilst I'll link up the rules etc, I trust you to know what we are up to, namely: READING! and HAVING FUN!
I (she/her) am a big Britpop fan, so was annoyingly whiny at the other mods to get this team name - hopefully you all don't hate the music genius that sprang from across the UK during the 90s - Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Radiohead, Elastica, Suede, et al. Any particular favourite Britpop bands / songs? Or if that's not your cup of tea - what music do you want to promote?

which has star and lightning shapes on the cover. Do we think this is acceptable for "Light source on cover"?? :D

Read this if you read nothing else!
This is a team challenge, which means we need to work as a team to maximise our fun, and points.
To do this, the number one behaviour is not reading. I know - shocker! The number one behaviour is communication!
All we ask of you is to let us know what is going on:
- When you finish books, for sure - especially if they are good books that you want to push into everyone's hands, and equally if it was a stinker to be avoided at all costs
- When you are not going to finish books you've claimed
- When life throws a curveball that's going to throw you off your game. We are fine (if sad) if you can't play because a tree has fallen on your house so you are focussed on that, or if you won the lottery and are off around the world. What we Do Not Like is if you vanish without a peep. We don't like chasing you (in case it's bad stuff), but we do need to know if you are going to go quiet or have to withdraw. If that happens, drop us a note here or via PM
Other key behaviours:
- Have fun!
- Be kind! In particular, remember that text based comms can land differently to the intent, so please assume things are written with kindness and from a positive place and that any offence taken is unintentional - give everyone the benefit of the doubt :)
Captains Actions
- We'll be checking that books are shelved, so please try and remember to put books on your challenge shelf when you finish them (or when you start), or accept that we'll pester you for a shelving.
- Dates ditto. Though we'll assume GR gremlins strike with date shenanigans!
- We'll be allocating books to letters in a way that makes sense to us. We don't do letter claims in this team. We WILL make a way to use all valid books each round, so you're reading will get us points!

Key points: books must be 100 pages; they have to be started after the countdown ends, and can only be used in the round they are finished in
Tracking Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
We'll use this for everyone to add their planned, current, finished books, with relevant information, There are some columns that are locked for Danielle and I, but those should be obvious via the medium of colour coding!
BUT, if you hate sheets, are going to be app only or some other reason, you can do a completion post, which should include:
Link to the book edition you read
Date you finished it
List of letters and reasons
Any bonus info
Round One Info
Word: VIOLA POMPOSA
Cover colour: Red (we need 5)
Round One Bonus Tasks: find instruments in the text of books. (max 10)

A dazzling collection of eleven interconnected stories from the bestselling, award-winning author of Shrines of Gaiety and Life After Life which offer the gimlet eye and delightful social critique that have made Atkinson one of the most lauded writers of our time.
In this brilliant volume, nothing is quite as it seems. We meet a queen who makes a bargain she cannot keep; a secretary who watches over the life she has just left; a lost man who bets on a horse that may--or may not--have spoken to him. Everything that readers love about the novels of Kate Atkinson is here--the inventiveness, the verbal felicity, the sharp observations on human nature, and the deeply satisfying emotional wallop.
Witty and wise, with subtle connections between the stories, Normal Rules Don't Apply is a startling and funny feast for the imagination, stories with the depth and bite to create their own fully-formed worlds.

I suspect MC will go out at night, but can't guarantee as yet.
Doesn't have the letters :(

Once that's done I just copy & past the blurb :)

To make Mods lives easier, please can you add your nomination as per the rules, thanks!

I'm back from a lovely long weekend n Bruges, the main drawback being the forced socialisation meant very little reading. But I'll have finished with Niccolo this evening :)

I thought there was some fighting at the final escape??
