35559 The mods asked us to remind you that the only ones that have permission to edit the team spreadsheet are the captains. So you don't need to request permission for that spreadsheet.

The tracking spreadsheet on the other hand is for all of us to edit

They haven't been picked yet. But as part of TT there're BOMs from the Disworld series.
In june is Mort
and in july, Guards! Guards!
May 03, 2021 06:32PM

35559 About task 43, I think if someone reads Guards! Guards! we'll have it covered and that's the BOM for july =)
May 02, 2021 07:54PM

35559 And your books have been added to our spreadsheet =)

I haven't done mine yet but I'm going to and I just wanna be prepared"

When you finish the book and answer the 3 sets of DQs you have to add the links in your completion post like this:

Book:
Date Read:
# of Pages:
The task it works for & how it fits:
List all the tasks/bingo/Jackanory your book fits
BOM: yes, DQ1 DQ2, DQ3 (links).

hahahaha, it's true there's a ton of tasks, but what I plan to do is to check every task when I finish a book to see if it works for any of them.

If you can't remember everything, that's ok, I'm sure we'll manage to complete as much tasks as we can ;)
And you reading a lot we'll be helpful for us slower readers hahaha

35559 About the completion posts, we'll post our completions in this thread, please follow the completion template below:

Book:
Date Read:
# of Pages:
The task it works for & how it fits:
List all the tasks/bingo/Jackanory your book fits
BOM: yes/no, DQs links.

I'll leave this in post #6

And when the tracking spreadsheet is ready, I'll link it there too =)

35559 Andrea, I loved His Majesty's Dragon! I hope you like it =)

I just got Los errantes by Olga Tokarczuk from the library, so I guess I'll start with that, I have to finish it by May 10th. It will work for a yellow cover, I don't know about bingo.

Then I'll see haha.

35559 Jessica wrote: "WELL I volunteered for Equal Rites....lol

why do people put "I'm in and DQs" does that not mean the same thing? lol. Im planning on reading all of the BOTM hopefully"

hahaha I'll try to explain BOMs and DQs

When you volunteer for DQs you're voluntering to writing DQs (around 5 or 6 I believe) for the chapters you're assigned. If one of us write DQs for a BOM, we earn 40 points.

The other way to participate in BOMs is answering DQs, any of us can do that. And for it to count a person needs to answer at least 3 sets of DQs to earn the participation points (20 points)

I hope that's clear!

And I hope Mel and you get picked to writing DQs ahaha =)

35559 Brittany, Dear Martin was one of my favorites of 2020, I believe Dear Justyce should be read too, to get a fuller picture.

I've only read Snow flower and the secret fan by Lisa See (besides Shanghai Girls of course), what other books by her have you read?

35559 Jammin Jenny wrote: "Hi there! This is Team Rob Anybody dropping in!!

Can you all provide some book recommendations? We'll supply some in return if you wish."

These are my recommendations from this year so far:

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Shanghai Girls (Shanghai Girls #1) by Lisa See
Dear Justyce (Dear Martin, #2) by Nic Stone
The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides
Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-Joo
War's Unwomanly Face by Svetlana Alexievich (this is non fiction and it's great!)

35559 I see that several of you come from the UNO challenge too, that's how I first came to TT like 4 years ago I think, and every year I wait for it to be announced haha.
You'll discover this is a simple challenge, except for the special tasks, but basically al you need to do is read as much as you can ahahaha.

Do you plan your books for the month in anticipation?
