1. This book begins in 18th century Cairo, with France and Turkey fighting over Egypt. I have never encountered this conflict in fiction before. Have you? Were you familiar with it before you started reading?
I havent' eaither encountered this conflict in fiction before and I didn't know about it either. African history is something I'm barely familiar with, but I've learned some the last few years because I'm trying to read more diverse authors from the nationality point of view.
2. Nahri has several mysterious powers, including healing, the ability to sense illness in others, and the ability to understand and speak every language she hears. Which of her powers would you like for yourself?
I'd love to have the ability to speak any language!
Just trying to answer these dqs in english is a bit of a challenge for me (I read english pretty well, but writing is a bit more difficult)
3. What do you think of the world building so far? Do you find it confusing, or do you feel like you’re along for the ride?
It's confusing yes, buit interesting and out of the ordinary, I've never read a similar book so far.
4. So far we’ve met 3 significant players in this book: Nahri, Ali, and Dara. Do you have a favorite character so far, or one who intrigues you the most?
Nahri is my favorite at the moment, I really need to know more about her.

The only one I know when I will be finished with is En la casa de los sueños because that's part of a book club and I have to finish it by next thursday =)

I'm Paula, from Chile, I'm 32 and work in environmental and mining consultancy.
I read mainly fantasy and historical fiction, I'm reading 3 to 5 books a month, I hope to read as much as I can during the challenge.
I won't be participating in BOMs because they're hard to find for me here in Chile.
I swear I'll have all read by wednesday, but I wanted to let you know that I'm here and happy to participate in TT again! (this might be my 5th or 6th time)
Work has been crazy, so I'll probably won't show up much here (weekly of course).
Here's my shelf

I read (listened to) The Martian a couple of years ago and I really loved it! I had so much fun listening to it, one of the best audiobooks I've ever listened

I'm Paula, from Chile, I love team challenges and I'm not sure how many times I've done WaT hahaha
I'll be co-captain with Jax and Mahi and will be helping Karolyn through the challenge.
I hope you all have a good time during WaT.
I read almost anything, but this year I've been focusing in books from different countries, I've readd authors from Vietnam, Argentina, Líbano, Kenia, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Brasil, among others =)
My favorite book of all time is Harry Potter =P
@Ann I also hate the mobile goodreads!
