I finished
Shelter (580 pages). Do we need more 500s?
I don't think it fits anything, but it has an N character so if we can swap it with
Smolder than we can use Smolder for Hufflepuff. Or maybe that doesn't work for reasons the captains understand but are beyond this mere mortal :-)
I've had a lot of fun reading with this team, no matter where we end up!

I am hoping to finish
Shelter (500 pages) and
Fairy Tale (600) pages this weekend.

I've had a bit of readers block and seemed like I couldn't finish anything, so I put my intimidating pile of currently-readings aside for a day and read the new Anita Blake
Smolder, which cheered me up.
I also finished a little book I've been savoring all summer
Ascendance of a Bookworm: Part 5 Volume 4-- I read a tiny bit when I wake up. And the author has a ten character name and the translator's name starts with a Q (if we need any of those).
Now I'll see if I can get traction on my other books...

So in
Daughter of the Empire the antagonist gets thrown through a screen and falls out of the building to her death. I think that's very close to defenestration, as the screens are sorta Japanese windows -- they are there to let the light in and stuff.
Does that work?

I am traveling and can’t update the spreadsheet but yesterday I finished
The Great Stewardess Rebellion: How Women Launched a Workplace Revolution at 30,000 Feet which has 320 pages (sums to 5).

What did you think of Only Bad Options? I liked it! I don't remember it really well, but I remember I liked..."It was fun and I enjoyed it, but I was grumpy with the end.
(view spoiler)[ They had that magical soul bond, and then they broke it (cue angst) and I thought maybe the author would do something new and have them say “hey, we are great together, let’s CHOOSE each other, but it turned out no, their magical soul bond was unbreakable. So now I’m not as keen to find the sequels, which will probably be fun but I’m sad the author isn’t actually willing to subvert tropes (hide spoiler)]

My book also has 2 people on its dark blue cover -- use it where you like!

I want an excuse to read Tanya Huff’s *Into the Broken Lands” for an I. So I’ll work on that.

I added some baking books.
Room to Dream is a kids book so I put a link to the word count at the end.

and one rando X."Didn't a bunch of people read
Fourth Wing? I'm reading the audio (so going slowly) but it has an X character.
Which the audio pronounces like Z but I am trying to handle this. (My son often uses the nick name Xan and we say it with an X, not a Z. They are different sounds!)

I mean, I've never read a book about an actual librarian that I DIDN'T enjoy. But they could use my book for something else, like Green or something?

Ha! I finally finished
The Daughter of Doctor Moreau!
I assume it's too late to go back to the discussion? Oh well, it actually fits a bunch of options, I think.
Like, The Librarian is a man turned into an orangutan by magic, and the whole book is about mixing humans and animals by science-magic, and so lots of the characters are furry and climb really well.

Finished the popular science book
Humble Pi: A Comedy of Maths Errors.
I didn't select the page placement because I forget if all the Chipmunks have to be free choice. It's 314 pages so it's in a very common range. (It's a math book -- 314 pages -- get it?)

I’ve got a Popular Science I will try to finish today.

I finished
Make Me and I guess it's a Gryffindor book? He'd definitely the charge forward bravely and be an idiot type that is the worst kind of Gryffindor.
I mention this because my edition doesn't show page numbers on goodreads, but the previous kindle edition matches what the page count was on my device so I used that. My edition is yellow, if we need that!

For Task Set 3 -- is that 16 books? 4 sets of 4?

And do we have to wait until July to start Wheel Tower books, or to finish them, or can we begin now?

Hmm. I just finished a book where the guy returns and (among other things) has to deal with a professor who was his predecessor at the fairly prestigious position of talking to the aliens. Now they hate each other and the professor keeps trying to knock the protagonist down. The professor isn't really a main characters, but he's a distinct secondary one.
Is that good enough for "features a professor", task 80?
It's
Convergence

I just finished
Purple Hearts where a couple get married for the GI benefits and then she starts dating a guy from her band.
So that would fit 76 -- cheating

I finished
Blood Vow and it included the line on page 238 (kindle, although I read the paperback) "a gust brought something that smelled like three-day-old roadkill topped with fake vanilla icing and baby powder"
Does that work for task 74?
