Finished a kidlit book: Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer and ARbooks clocks it at 50K words:https://www.arbookfind.com/bookdetail...
Is there a place in the spreadsheet where I should put that?

I am working hard on my 600+ book -- it's for a book club that meets the 2nd of June. I should make it by the 31st. It's a nonfiction about the history of gay marriage and it's a bit of a slog.
I am reading The Haunted Bridge , which is obviously a kids book but ARreader clocks it at 34349 so I'll toss it in.Go get 'em Nancy! Wow 'em with your golf skills!

I expect to get breakfast in bed for Mother's Day. Then I'll go out to lunch with my son and maybe have dinner with my sister and her family. It'll be nice.

You guys are so smart! I've been scrolling right past it for days now!
Could we put a link to the Mini challenge in one of the top posts? It's not too much work to scroll down to message 50 but I think I will be doing it a lot..I added the book I read over lunch, which was short but had wide margins: Two Lives: Gertrude and Alice, and then put in some books that I started and hope to finish sometime in the vague future, mostly for book clubs.
One is a huge chonker (900 pages! nonfiction!) but the book club isn't until next month. Does it count if I start in May but finish in June? (I tend to read dozens of books at a time). And I noticed I had one set as a paperback and when I switched it to kindle since I'm reading an ebook it jumped to 400 pages. So that's nice!
I just started an audio book. I mostly listen to audio while doing the dishes so they take me a while. Anyway, my point is that I just noticed that it's a "Dramatized Adaptation" and only five hours and change. So I think that counts as a 100 page book, since there isn't a direct paper equivalent. On the other hand it's quite fun to listen to!

We have until the end of the month to finish, right? I'll go look for some chonkers.

I'm trying to convince myself it isn't raining that much and I should go do my first Zombies Run run -- it's a story you listen to while running and sometimes zombies are chasing you so you have to run faster.
OK, so I read a book, then either1) Add it to the tracking spreadsheet and suggest some places it could work
2) Post here like this:
Title: The Activist, by John Grisham
Series/Translator: Theodore Boone
Pages: 289 (verified at 59K at ARreads)
Date read: May 1, 2023
Challenge possibilities: J, G, A, T, there's a council leader with dark secrets like Palpatine (for team name),
And if I plan to read a book I can post it as well but leave out the finish date?
I finished a children's book (59K words, from ARread) but I think it's not orange enough to be a color:
Do you want us to post books here as well as in the spreadsheet?
Do you like T. Kingfisher? She has some short horror books: Nettle & Bone, What Moves the DeadI love Kingfisher and I'm scared of horror, but these short ones work for me!
Yay Louise! I've read and enjoyed Chirp. Messner is a solid kidlit writer. I'm very impressed that you all seem to know what book you are going to read next...
I picked up a book and then put it down again to concentrate on some of the dozens of books I already have bookmarks in. See, this team is helping me even before the challenge starts!
I'm looking at the mini challenge for ideas. I'm not actually that good at planning what I'm going to read, but I'm fairly good at reading whatever. I don't find the current BOMs that appealing, but I can definitely read from the shelves of the names provided! I'm also good at coming up with links to books. And I have a lot of books in my house that I've been meaning to read so I can definitely try to pick some by color.
Hello!I live in the northwest US, in the state of Washington. I read a lot of science fiction, romance, mystery, and a bit of nonfiction.
I named my shelf towerx
Do you still want us to report what we read here? I just finished Absolution by Murder. I try to put useful bits that you could use for Jackanory on the spreadsheet.
