Finished! Such a treat to re-read it. I especially love how the three work together at the end. It's making me sad that my kids are grown! Maybe someday I will have grandkids to read to and let them experience the magic with me. My son especially was captivated from the very beginning.
No worries! It will take me a minute to get a good spreadsheet routine! Just keep reading those buddy reads and I'll figure it out.I'll occasionally ask you all to double-check that I have everyone's books on the sheet correctly, usually at the end of each week. My work schedule is erratic so I could be on early one day and really late the next, but I am on here every day. If I miss something, shoot me a PM!
Spreadsheets are ready! I just requested access so I can get us rolling. You can take a look here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
I'll start entering books read now, so as you finish up, please post in our books read thread.
I need Book / Link to Book, Date Read, # of Pages. If you participated in BOM / BR, please link your first substantial discussion post so I can add that in for points (not the "I'm in" post).
He’s amazing, for sure!Ashlee, you might appreciate this. Meet Bark Andre Furry!

I'm actually a Blackhawks fan, but I'll cheer for the hometown team this year! Hockey is awesome no matter who is playing.

Good thinking, Devann! As soon as I get my hands on the spreadsheet I will add a spell out planner for us. As we add books we've read, we can track all of the relevant letters.I am trying to keep all of the "quick reference" things we need in this post: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
As we get details on classes, quidditch, and the tai-wizard tournament, I'll add them in.
Devann wrote: "@Michelle that is why I've generally got like 6 books going at once because I'm like mmmm I'm suddenly not in the mood for that *stars another one* lol but then at some point you just have to buckl..."Yes, exactly how I feel! I have 3 or 4 going all the time and I bounce around. If I get really gripped by one I knock it out, otherwise it's a few chapters here, a few chapters there. If I could just focus I would probably read more books per year.

I can commit to 100 pages a day, I think. I love this book - I read it years ago and I'm excited for a re-read.I was considering the audio but my version is 53 hours, even at 1.3 speed.

I have British and American hardcover versions, Jim Dale and Stephen Fry versions of the audiobooks, and the ePubs.

I will read Chamber but I need to finish up a couple of others I just started first.I've always wanted to start Kate Daniels so I should pop over there and give her a go.
It's funny how you have to be in the right mindset for a book sometimes. At least I find this true for me.
I should finish up my re-read of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone today, and I'm slowly working on The Aeronaut's Windlass but it hasn't gripped me yet. I'm so surprised because I love The Dresden Files and his Codex Alera series is my favorite of all time. Maybe because it's steampunk? I'll keep plugging away but I only made it to chapter 3 before setting it aside and starting The Draining Lake. We can use it for A or I in the spell outs, and we need a lot of I's.
Yes, books must be started after the start date of the challenge to count towards the challenge for this one.

It was elements - air, water, fire, etc. I was part of water.

Devann wrote: "yeah i think it's something you only really notice after several re-reads or maybe if you read all of them really close together, but JKR was definitely a woman with a plan"So true, Devann! It's really set the standard in my mind for excellence in world building. It's why it's so enduring and has launched so many things - Pottermore, the games, the theme parks. People want to live in this world. Amazing!
