Jenny, I don't have it but was planning on purchasing an electronic copy so I can get it quickly or can wait while we read something else. I'm getting better at reading but can't keep up with you guys! I can sometimes read 2 at a time. I'm going to have to add Lovecraft County to my to read list as well!

I'm fine with the Last Equation, looks interesting.

Hope everyone is enjoying there current or upcoming reading challenge! I was curious if any of you would be interested in reading with me. It was on my list before current events, but I think it is even more relevant. I know that wait lists are probably long and I'm willing to wait if there is interest.

Ok, I have what feels like a newbie question. For the book 'tags' what is the best way to find that out?

I finished last night. Still deciding how I feel. The fact that it feels like it was written right now is eerie. Overall I liked it. I liked the themes and ideas but I felt like a few of them were, well, not subtle.

Look forward to hearing what the rest of you thought.

I just started chapter 3. I like it, it very much feels like it was written earlier this year. Maybe not, but so strange.

I am not sure how I feel about the Metros. The oversight and belief in a 'normal' family is a bit overwhelming, which I am sure it is intended to be. I'm curious about the other area (forget what it is called right now and can't just look up on audio).

I like all of the characters to an extent right now. None are perfect but all have some redeeming qualities.

Ok. Yes, interesting start. Look forward to seeing what comes of it.

Jenny, that sounds great. I had quite a few years where I didn't read for pleasure much. There are so many good books out there that I know I missed. I also enjoy reading one of the classics too.

Ok, I put a request in for my library and am next in line. If it doesn't come in in time I will just buy it.

Have you decided on anything? I just finished my current book and was thinking of what's next.

The Erotic Stories was on my to read list, but if we can't all get it then we should wait. I like the short list a lot.

Jenny, that is quite a varied collection! There are some I would prefer more than others but sometimes the ones I wouldn't pick are the best.

I finished today. Wow. I liked it, I think. The drugs were hard as was all that Polly went through. I agree a lot with Jenny, so not sure what else I can add right now. Maybe after I digest it a bit.

I read My Dark Vanessa just before this. Looking forward to something a bit lighter. I just got Nothing to See Here, so I think that should be. Laura, I also managed to get the Mercies if you haven't started yet.

Wow, Jenny. I'm impressed at how quickly you read. I'm at chapter 34. I think this is going to be one of those books that I have trouble saying that I liked because of the subject matter. Bastard out of Carolina was like that for me as well.

I love Polly's teddy bear. I think more kids could use an outlet like that for expression.

Kathy, glad to have you join us. What are your thoughts on the book so far?

Ok, I've been reading a lot today and am in Chapter 17. It is definitely interesting.

(view spoiler)[Nate definitely feels like a product of his environment. I'm not sure what to make of him either but I don't hate him. Polly is great and will be an interesting imperfect victim. Can't believe how much she has been through. Her reactions are difficult but I think that is the point. (hide spoiler)]
