35559 Jenny, did I see you were finished?

(view spoiler)

Also, did I see you started Hurricane Season? I'll be starting soon. Look forward to hearing what you think. I got it in ebook form which will likely take me longer.

Have you figured out what the equation is for yet?

35559 Hello! I'm stopping by from Team Sword of Shannara to ask for book recommendations. I've been in the mood for some good Sci Fi - any favorites here?

Thanks in advance and happy reading!

35559 Ok, I finished. I'll say more later once you two are further. I did think it started a bit slow but it definitely picked up as it went on. I enjoyed it.
35559 Wait, the girl is Drew. I’m still a bit confused
35559 Wasn't there a little girl? One of Sybil's?
35559 I can see it! Thank you!
35559 Is there any way to post a picture of the family tree? I’m almost there but I love that. I’m doing audio so I don’t have it. Or I’ll see if I can get a kindle book as well
35559 How has everyone been doing? Enjoying it? Started? I decided to finish my other book first and haven't gotten much further. I am really interested and will start back up tomorrow.

I'm also starting Other Words for Home. It's YA but came highly recommended by a friend. It is also written in prose.

Welcome! Two of my more recently read recommendations are Trevor Noah's Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood and Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men. The second is very data based, really interesting and maddening if you like that kind of thing.

An older favorite is The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. The style is more journalistic than literary but fascinating.
35559 Laura, I love your chapter 20 comment!

I'm unsure about this one. I am listening and this narrator isn't helping. It makes me wonder how I'd feel if I were just reading. She is fairly monotone and is making me feel lectured too, especially when combined with the writing style.

Are you sure it isn't the neighborhood? I agree it does appear when trying to make a point, but at one point they talk about how they wouldn't have felt so strongly about Juniper being spoiled had they known about her 3rd birthday.

I can definitely see some of the directions this is going but I feel like there is something bigger that I'm missing.
35559 I am really looking forward to this one.
35559 Beth, I loved it. Hope you do too. Feel free to post here if you want to talk about it!
35559 Jenny, my copy of Devolution is here! I decided to purchase the book. I'm super excited but will wait until we read some of the others.
