I just finished my last book for the challenge. Thank you all for being a great team and thank you to our captains for all of their hard work. This one had a lot!

Tammie, I'll finish a book set in Australia early this evening (it's short). Looks like we may be able to spin again and possibly get a few extra point.

It looks a bit orange on one of my screens, but not the others and tine eye says its only 1.4% orange with white and mostly shades of brown. If it doesn't work, save it for orange (if we get there).

Stephie's is close, but I'd say gray.

If my current read doesn't work I picked up some others that will. I won't be able to finish until late Sunday or maybe Monday if I need a new one.

Stephie, it should work.

Since know all we need is brown, I thought I'd ask about this book. Tin eye says orange but I'm not really convinced it's not brown. I'll keep looking but this one is short and looks fun.

Tammy, in The Hike, a main plot point is a character falling to their death (actually more than 1 do though not all at the same time).

Sorry, last comment before going back to work. What works for plot point? Bones of the Story has a tree on it (one I've read and hasn't been used yet). The Hike takes place in the Norwegian Forest where friends come together and are chased by secrets and bad people. You could move those if these two things work.

I also have a #7 I can probably finish this weekend - maybe both but no promises (and happy if someone else wants to claim).

I have a short one for WOOD in title I can finish this weekend, but not until I finish what I'm reading now. Probably tomorrow but I'm happy to let someone have it who will finish faster.

Tammie, Make sure you agree with my reasoning for plot element. I'm sure others will have suggestions.

I'm reading a book set it Paris that could work for #14, but I do need to slow down a bit so if someone else has something they should go for it.

Tammie, I'm ok either way. I'll be done in less than an hour, but we can always hold off on mine and use it for something else. Whatever works!

Finished the book set in india

I found a quick one I can finish by tomorrow (only 5 hrs at regular speed).

I also am reading a book currently that may work for plot. No sewing, but hikers out on a multiple day hike whose tents fail in the rain and whose supplies are lost in a landslide leaving them without the appropriate clothing. Would this work for plot?

I can probably read it quickly, but I doubt it will be today unless I find a really short one. I'll look soon.

Tammie, do you have plot element? I didn't see it up there. If not, how close does it need to be? I'm reading a book where I expect clothing will become important soon.

I don't think India is bad. I can pick up something if M doesn't take it.

I've been reading a lot this weekend. First my husband was sick and now I am (although not as bad as he was).

Maybe for hazards we need to start another round and move some finished books up. Then fill in those others as others finish. Just an idea to make sure everyone can participate but we still keep things going.

DQs Day 3, Chapter 14-21

11. Ack! Why do these kinds of stories always have the not-quite-yet couple decide after a steamy session that they need to keep their relationship platonic? You know that both people just go off wistfully lusting after each other and regretting the whole platonic agreement! What other tropes in romance novels drive you nuts?
I hate when the disagreement/misunderstanding involves cheating, anything remotely close to abuse, or is magically resolved. I also hate when the whole thing could have been so easily avoided by pretty basic conversations.

12. It's a huge step for (view spoiler) It's so easy to get bogged down by things, and then it can be so hard to let them go. Have you had to deal with similar situations (the general situation of having accumulated too much but having trouble downsizing)?
Not to that extreme, but I'm finding myself thinking about getting rid of things now. It's hard to give up on those things you thought you would get around to using.

13. Any further thoughts about Miles's family background? We learn a bit more in these chapters about what growing up with his mother was like for him; is there more to his estrangement than that?
I've finished now, so I know. It wasn't exactly what I expected but it made sense.

14. What are your thoughts about Julia? What do you think is her real motivation for her visit to Miles?
Again, I know now. I like her and there are definitely learned roles and thoughts going on here.

DQs Day 2 Chapter 9-13

6. In this section, we learn that the countdown at the start of every chapter is for the Read-a-thon, a reading event Daphne is planning at the library. Did you try to figure out what it was about? What did you think? Or were you just along for the ride, waiting to find to, like I was?
I figured it was for the lease, but I liked this reason much more.

7. Speaking of the Read-a-thon, have you heard of or participated in (or even organized!) something like it? Would you like to?
I've heard of things like it. It sounds vaguely familiar, I may have done something similar as a kid, but not an in person thing. I always loved the summer reading programs.

8. “[Sadie] and Cooper were our best friends” Daphne is not only going through the end of her romantic relationship, but also seems to have lost her best friend. What’s your take on that? Have you ever been on either side of this situation? (No need to answer/go into detail of course!)
I think it is very sad and relatable. It becomes too easy to have couple friends. I think she wanted stability so much that she latched onto Peter's friends too much which made it even harder.

9. “I think the beard is sheer chaos, but not inherently bad. It’s your face, Miles. All that matters is how you feel about it.” I think Daphne makes a great point here and think we should all remember that a bit more before we judge people’s looks. Were there any quotes that really stood out to you?
That was great, and I know I laughed a bunch but none really stuck with me.

10. What do you think is up with Miles’s family so he doesn’t have a relationship with his parents? How do you feel about Daphne neither probing nor really wondering about it?
I know we will find out so I haven't really worried. It is clear it is something that bothers him and Daphne has her own family things that make her understand. I think her approach is perfect.
