35559 I will finish my Congo book in the next hour or so. It's just under 200 pages, but I think it being a hard country makes up for that. Also, it's been on my TBR for a while so that's a personal bonus!

I actually quite enjoyed that challenge. But reading did take longer because I'd have to stop and make note of any food items I found.

35559 We currently have 3 Pakistan books listed for mini 1. Sana has just finished one so we have used that. Sana has another one listed and Jessica has one listed too. We will only be able to use one of those for a different itinerary later.

35559 Norway gets like that in the winter too. In the peak of winter the sun will rise about 10am and set at around 2pm. It's crazy. I'm sure Iceland are experiencing the same summer light that Norway is. Parts might even be experiencing midnight sun.

I read a few Michael Morpurgo when I was growing up. I think I even did an essay on War Horse for part of my coursework in my English Literature A Level. I would like to read more of his books, but as you said, some of them aren't long enough for team challenges.

35559 Welcome Klare, it's great to be on a team with you again so soon!

Norway is going very well thank you, apart from I seem to have a bit of insomnia at the moment. I think it's because it doesn't really get dark here at this time of year. You look out the window at midnight and it looks like it could be like 8pm in England! It takes some time to get used to.

Remember, we can use any books you have started and finished after the 17th, but any country books for mini 1 won't be able to be used unless they were finished today.

And as a general reminder to everyone, we can bank books for mini 2 so if you want to read something that doesn't fit any current tasks, you can do so. But of course finishing current tasks unlocks more tasks! We can also use read books for future cheese (as long as they were finished on or after 20th May.

I don't want to cause any confusion, but is the author from Barbados or a main character? If it is author then we can use it, but if it is a character then unfortunately we cannot.

35559 Yay! Klare was recently in a team with me for Uno!

Both Klare and Lauren are very welcome!!

35559 We have two new tasks for mini 2!

- Read a book where a character visits a castle or palace

- Read a book with an earthly mode of transportation on the cover (i.e., no spaceship)

Yes, as long as it is only the second time Grenada is being used (which I believe it is) and it is in a different itinerary (which it will be).

If all the other teams finish quickly, maybe those cheeky chipmunks will throw another one at us soon. But I do hate not knowing how long we actually have...

35559 As the cheese only stays around for an undetermined amount of time, I say go for it! The extra points will make up for it being a shorter book.

35559 I will finish I Who Have Never Known Men in the next hour or two. It will work for the I in the cheese. It's not the book I said I would finish first, but my brain is so hyperactive at the moment, I've got to go with whatever it will let me read.

I'm afraid I added to fuel to that by commenting that I don't like cheese. I only know what a lot of cheeses are because I was stuck restocking the cheese aisle in the supermarket I worked in for months before they moved me elsewhere.

35559 Oh yeah, thank you Heather! I meant to do that last time I was messing about with the spreadsheet.

Off topic, but anyone on Android get a Goodreads app update? It has dark mode now (it changed automatically for me as that's my default if an app allows it). Everything looks weird now but I'll get used to it :P

35559 Nistha wrote: "If we are doing a lot of hard books in r1 already, I am happy to prioritze other books and move my Bulgaria book to itenary 2"

As long as we meet the requirements for the Itineraries, it doesn't really matter what order they are read in. We just need to remember that we can't finish books for Itinerary 2 until the first one is complete.

*edit*
We now just need one more hard book to meet the requirements and then the rest can be any difficulty.
It would be most convenient if we stuck with the order on the tracking sheet to avoid confusion, but we can move books around if needed.
