Oh good! I'm so glad. I agree!

I definitely want it to be a religion as well as the rest. So that Cosmo could be quite devout--even a little conservative in his following of Craft traditions--while still forswearing using magic in a mortal world.
Or rather, a world dominated by mortals.

I'm so glad!
There are some really different things about this book--things that I kind of knew when writing it would throw some readers.
Not just that John and Cosmo DON'T know each other at the end of the book. Although that is a problem. The book is a race to get to the finish line, but the finish line is actually the starting line. :-D
Which I personally love--and I love that you loved it--but I can see why some readers might feel like... but wait...
:-D
The thing is, they do love each other. Because it is possible to "love" someone without fully knowing them--just as it is impossible to know someone in two weeks. Is it the kind of love that could withstand a lot of testing?
But you can know the important things about someone, especially if you meet in a trial by fire situation. Or at least you can know what you imagine are the important things.

But as it is, he doesn't see it until it's too late.
Well, ALMOST too late.

It's going to be quite a big year with two series wrapping up and the AE 20th anniversary!

And Jason IS shocked, but as has been pointed out, he doesn't pull out. He just becomes convinced he'll be canned AND dumped.
