34844 Wellllll...

It's been a while, hasn't it?

I can't wait for next year and my (truly, really) new and improved SANE writing schedule. This year I'm doing the best I can with the schedule I devised last year to punish myself for being unable to write during the pandemic. Because... That's how I roll.

So really there is no time for anything but writing right now, and even then I'm falling behind because, whether I like it or not, stuff happens. Stuff with the aging Ps, stuff with the dogs, stuff with the SO and the house and the yard.

Intrusive reality butting in again.

Anyway, I'm skimming quickly through messages and I'm glad to see that mostly, largely everyone is okay. Let's keep it that way. ;-)

A belated Happy Birthday, Lillian. What a nice idea.

Okay, so that was me being optimistic. Realistically, my schedule NOW looks like this:

July - Body at Buccaneer's Bay
August - The 12.2 Per-Cent Solution
Septemberrrrrrrrr or maybe stretching into early October - The Movie-Town Murders.

Hide and Seek (exclusive to Patreon) will be my last book of the year unless I put out a short story for the holidays.

That can't come as a surprise to anyone! :-D

When new or largely unknown authors launch with 100-200 reviews right out of the gate, obviously something has been coordinated.

Yeesh. So much to unpack there. But the final sickening note was this:

I’ve turned off comments as I’m tired of dealing with tone policing, personal attacks, and abuse (the latter of which I have not been putting through, but it’s a special kind of mean to wish death on someone who survived an illness with a 30% mortality rate).

What in God's name--or just the name of normal decency--is the matter with people???

I'm still stuck on trying to understand THIS: "And I’m including my high school senior awards ceremony where I learned that half the money my family donated to the music department after my mother’s death had been used not for the purpose for which it had been donated."

WHAT THE HELL?!

I do believe car color was one of the things caught in translation--several times. :-D

34844 IF the final Art of Murder is the FINAL Art of Murder. I'm not sure I'll really have the answer to that until I write The Movie-Town Murders. I think it's the final one. But I have this niggling doubt in the back of my mind...
Apr 09, 2021 10:03AM

34844 From my perspective, my two *big* books for discussion will be the final Holmes & Moriarity and the final Art of Murder.

And those will be in July and September. H&M is going to be bumped back a little bit because--pre-epiphany--I did schedule this year WAY too tight.
Apr 09, 2021 10:01AM

34844 So listen. I'm trying to have a book out just about every month through the fall, which means you should probably go ahead and do a couple of these discussions of other author books that readers are longing to talk about. They've been postponed so many times now!

You can always list my book-du-jour as something additional for those who want to chime in with their thoughts. I do always find those comments and insights interesting--and sometimes truly helpful when planning the next books. ;-)
