Right? Even more difficult than imagining him naked. ;-D

It is because it's not one of my personal favorites, although I knew when I wrote it, it was going to do well.
Also, I fell in love with Sam in that book. :-D
Best thing about today...Well, I'm shaking off my aggravation. The final proofs to Fatal Shadows The Collector's Edition were supposed to be in my dropbox, but YET AGAIN, the wrong (partial, sample) file was instead uploaded by someone who shall be nameless (the SO!! ARGH!!!). But that just means I have a full day to work uninterrupted on The Movie-Town Murders.
So. A nice quiet writing day with only the dogs and the crackling fireplace to keep me company.

Took my first exam in my copy editor's course. The class is fact-checking and it's driving me nuts..."
Yikes. When the best thing you can say of a course is, At Least it's Over.
Ouch.

So very wise for her years.
Mymymble wrote: "So exciting the 1921 census! One hundred years ago there are my Gran and Grandad - a maid and a washer-upper, living near King’s Cross, London."Oh wow!
By the way, there's a second short story collection out. The stories are from 2013 - 2020 and include Wizard's Moon, Wedding Favors, Night Watch, The Boy Next Door, Plenty of Fish, Halloween is Murder, Fade to Black and Requiem for Mr. Busybody. Basically, everything not yet collected. ;-)

Hey, stranger!

The original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. So many good things. But startlingly dark.

LOL. Well, they do share a certain ruthless sensibility.
Lynn wrote: "I really wanted a sequel when I read this book the first time. Still do!"It's one of the books I get the most requests for a sequel on. But the lesson of The Ghost Had an Early Check-out, is don't write it unless you *really* feel the need for a follow-up.

Jordan, there are so many wonderful dogs out there in need of a loving, caring human. I know it's too soon, but you're a dog person, and one day the time--and the dog--will be right.

This is our year, Johanna. The year of Health, Wealth, and Happiness!
Okay, I don't care about the wealth, But the health and happiness? I am here for that/

Oh my gosh, that's so exciting! Are you really considering LA?!
I remember we were watching a lot of Nordic noir on Amazon (Flaming swans, anyone? Church hangings?) when I wrote this one. Also, we were in process of moving into the new house and it was cold and empty, which furthered the Nordic noir vibe. I would sit in my empty office waiting for deliveries or repairmen and type away in my thick sweater and wool socks. :-D
