Humor is so tricky! What I find--particularly in the Holmes & Moriarity series--is if the reader does not share my sense of, er, fun, they don't like the characters and then everything falls apart from there.
I'll be interested to see if I get the humor in these.

Although what I look for in my own work might not be what readers look for!

I used to write everything long hand. Then, after I learned to write directly to the laptop, I used to print everything out and do the edits by hand. Now I do everything directly on the laptop, and I do feel like something is lost in the process.
In fact, sometimes if I'm feeling too disconnected from the story, I'll write a scene long hand, and that does bring a certain immediacy to the storytelling--although I'm not sure why. Supposedly long hand triggers a different part of the creative brain?
I don't know *how* it works, but it does seem to work.

I'm heading off on a short vacation tomorrow so I'm posting our BOMs for May one day early! We will be reading Stranger on the Shore, as our second Josh reread for our..."
Hey! Have a wonderful vacation!

Honestly, that's the important part!"
Well, that's what I would tell someone else, so I know you're right! :-D

LOL I couldn't agree more.

Our June BOM will be Jordan Castillo Price's Zero Hour!"
Because Carina Press still holds the rights to this book, I can't run a sale like I did for Winter Kill, however I'm giving away a handful of copies in case someone wants to take part in the discussion, but can't afford the book:

I had the opportunity to meet him once, and I was too GODDAMNED SHY to go up and tell him how much I loved his work.
So that's the second time I've passed on the chance to tell a hugely influential person how much they meant to me.
Why am I like this? I hate this about myself.

I was watching (and laughing) on the news last night how, in fact, legally Florida's government can't just make those changes--which is very lucky for Floridians who would be picking up the billion dollar price tag difference.
This is a fascinating one to watch. De Santis is fascinating because his ego and ambition seem to know no bounds--I think he's going to pose a terrific challenge to Trump.

Yes! I think maybe we humans are genetically programmed for Spring Cleaning?! :-D

1 - Phenomenal world building

I just love her so much.

THOSE BOYS NEED TO RUN MORE LAPS. ;-D

Congratulations!

I can't tell you how relieved I am to know I'm not the only one who forgets to send newsletters! :-D

I'm in awe too. And, frankly, envious.
I have Sherwood's Jon's....Bopping Mystery (I think?) and I'm looking forward to reading that one. Have any of you read it?

2 - Getting my office finally, completely organized (it's only taken six years!)
3 - Stolen springtime swims (we swam on Easter this year, which is a first ever).
4 - Crossing things off The List. Especially things that have been there for weeks, months, years...
5 - Spring plantings! New flowers arriving this week to take the place of those that didn't make it through the winter. Hope springs eternal, as they say.

The idiotic thing about these Florida Republicans is Disney is a major job provider. And their little municipality actually takes the weight off surrounding communities who will now, presumably, have to pick up the slack in providing road maintenance, fire protection, etc.
I wish Disney would move their entire operations out of Florida, but that would be all but impossible at this point. How the heck do you move Disney World?
