Challenge Duration: October 1st through December 31st
Rules For this challenge you can either work a 'crossword puzzle' or a 'sudoku puzzle' or both! (see below) This challenge is a minimum of three books but you can complete as many 'crosswords' and 'sudokus' as you like! A book read can only be used once in this challenge (you can not use a book for a crossword and a sudoku) You can post a list ahead of time if you like or post as you go. Books read can be from any genre you like so don't worry about only using bodice rippers.
Crossword(kinda): Read a minimum of three books that have one word in all the titles (example: Sweet Savage Love, Savage Embrace, Hide my Savage Heart).
Sudoku (kinda): Read a minimum of three books where the number of letters in all the titles add up to 9. This one will be trickier. Example: Lady Vixen (9 letters), Flowers of Fire (13 letters), A Gentle Feuding (14 letters)... 9+13+14=36 ---> 3+6=9
This time I am going to plan to post updates monthly so we can all see where everyone is at! Maybe bring out some of that competitive spirit and also so we can give out congratulations when someone completes the challenge!!!
Please post only once and edit that post with your updates. Please include the date that each book was finished.

About the author: (From author page here on GoodReads)
Jeanne worked as a reporter and fashion magazine illustrator, later she started to wrote gothic novels from 1973 to 1977, until, like other gothic author had to change to the emerging popular romance genre under the pseudonym Valerie Sherwood, and also as Rosamond Royal. She became a popular romance author of five chunky bestselling historicals, including Bold Breathless Love, Her Shining Splendor and This Loving Torment (six weeks on the New York Times paperback best-seller list).
To participate: Simply pick any book written my this popular author (any of her pseudonyms) to read! As you read or when you are done drop by here to discus the author!
Discussion questions: Are you new to this author or are you familiar with her work? If you have read her before, how did the book you chose compare to her other works? Did you enjoy her style? Was the book fast paced or more leisurely? What do you think this authors strengths are? Weaknesses? How was the character development? dialog? setting and atmosphere? etc...

Devil's Embrace by Catherine Coulter 1982

GoodReads description: For beautiful Cassie, the seething city of Genoa seems a world away form her 18th-century estate where she was raised. Until she meets Lord Anthony Welles, the brutally handsome aristocrat who swears that he will win Cassie's heart, even as he conquers her body. And on the eve of her wedding to another man, Anthony proves that he will stop at nothing to be with the woman he loves...
Availability: This should be super easy to find as it is currently in print, check out Amazon (available in print and kindle format, yay!) the original cover is super purdy tho so I would try to find that one used if you can :)
Discussions: This is a somewhat controversial book... What did you think? Did you find it shocking in anyway? Did you find it to be more over the top and offensive than modern romance novels? From other bodice rippers? How do the characters change or evolve throughout the course of the story? What events trigger such changes? What was your favorite scene? At what point in the book did you decide if you liked it or not? What helped make this decision? If you could change something about the book would you? If so what/how?
Please be considerate of others and use 'spoiler spaces' when revealing key plot elements.

You are more than welcome to jump in and comment whenever you get to it :)

I have one of these... Captive Secrets I think... I might have to check it out sometime soon :) Sounds awesome.
For my pirate book I was planning on reading

5 stars!!!! Loved it! I think I loved Hide My Savage Heart a little bit more, but this one is more of a bodice ripper!
