I created this thread because of Cal from Nobody's Baby But Mine. I think he's a class A jerk. Actually I think most of SEP heroes are somewhat jerky. That doesn't mean I don't like her, because I do. But I like to call a spade a spade.
What do you think of heroes who are really just jerks, for whatever reason? Do you have a high tolerance for jerky behavior in a hero, or does it depend on the reasons?Which heroes from which books would you consider jerks? They aren't necessarily evil, they are just tools, for lack of a better word.
Are there authors who seem to make a career out of writing jerks?
Welcome, Melissa! This is a safe place where we can like the bad boys and not feel judged about it, so no worries. :)
I have an issue with the writers who write for what the trends are, instead of writing something authentic and distinctive. I understand that writers need to get paid, but they are also artists and they have to express themselves in a way that's real and honest.I feel that there are way too many clones out there in the romance genre right now.
Yeah, I really don't get the ongoing series about the same couple, except if it's a mystery or urban fantasy. But I feel ilke it does shortchange the happy ending when you keep seeing the same relationship angst for the same couple over and other.

I finished this today. I liked it quite a bit. I think that this is more about the heroine than the hero. That's okay because it's nice to have a strong heroine focused story. I really enjoyed the theme about found family and bonding between people who are united but come from different background. I found this wonderfully multicultural, which can definitely be an issue with many romances that are popular.I'd give it four stars.
To those who read it, what was your favorite aspect of the book?
