fatalism? no really! he doesn't see why he should comply - 'if i get it i get it' is his maxim, says he doesn't care who he might take with him. he goes to the houses of others as he pleases, has people in his house as he pleases - due to this and other issues (choosing to listen to others (who are wrong) over our advice, etc etc), we can't have him in our bubble, and just drop his shopping in once a week (during which he moans that we don't stay longer), there's no winning, so i stopped stressing over it - f*** it, he can do what the f*** he likes, i'm keeping mine and me safe! sad? mibbe. do i care? not any longer!

indeed, same here. an awful lot of people have been 'found out', during these times - found out to be utter selfish bastards with no sense of community in them. unfortunately, it's what we now expect of people, who, round here, fall into roughly 4 categories,
1 - the ignorant
2 - the selfish
3 - the 'look down the nose at you poor idiots, it's all a conspiracy' types - perhaps the worst of all.
4 - thankfully, the majority who are able to behave themselves.

if you don't expect the best in people, you won't be disappointed. and that's a terrible place to be, but for the long haul it's essential that you and yours are safe, well and sensible (which is a strain when my father is both 1 & 2 - but even at that, our attitude is **** him, we're keeping ourselves safe.).
