268590 Caribbean? naw! strickly u.k. roots!

anyhoo, the highs of aswad are the most high, but the lows are, let's be honest, rank! space helpfully cites a 21 album range, but, for me there's about 7 worthy, 4 of which are essential and fitting to be among the best in the u.k. roots canon - the choice is yours...........i'm starting with a dub. magnificent bass, magnificent horns.

268590 i also remember way back, when we went to choose kes (border collie) from two brown/red girls in the litter. after taking an age to make our minds up i suddenly pointed and said 'that one!'. mrs tech asked why i was so sure which one to pick, to which i replied 'well, she'd just had a shite, so it'll be longer before she needs another one!'
268590 yeah, doberman brown boy bingo! hope you get your boy.

we were 2nd on a litter list for a brown beardie girl, and lux was the only girl in the litter (and brown). the top of the list came to collect her, from the midlands i remember, instantly declared her markings to be wrong, and promptly left puppyless, leaving us with the reject. yay! she'll be 9 on tuesday.

268590 "Also what is this "working" of which you speak?"

it's all the rage with us young hep cats!
268590 i think, derek, sera is mourning the absence of marillion, whereas i rejoice in their disappearance!

268590 incidentally, before i left that employ i was getting a bit of an 'angel of death' rep, as 4 of the 5 deaths during my time there, were on my (night) watch!...................so don't bug me!

268590 "Maybe dementia's not so bad for the sufferer?"

and mibbe no. in my tenure (working, brass, working!) in a locked dementia unit, everything was peas and carrots, except for the sufferers that had brief periods of complete lucidity - akin to father jack's 'am i still on this feckin' island' moment, to see the pain in their eyes was excruciatingly heartbreaking to have to witness.

268590 "Luckily it was rescued by the incredibly calm and caring Charlotte Lawrie ..."

....because if it had landed here between a rock (bob z.) and a hard place (sheet of puff pastry)...........?

268590 yenk!

meant to comment on the singularly most bizarre rammstein song, which appears on 'rosenrot' - mariachi?

https://youtu.be/7gd3vj1K6Oc

the title, "Te quiero puta!", does translate as "i love you, whore", so mibbe not that far removed? also, bizarrely, it makes me smile.
268590 "if the cloak is invisible..."

....after you've completed a substantial shopping, you pick one of these up, open it, surround yourself and your shopping with it, then quite simply walk out the shop without paying. when the security alarm goes off, the lazy disinterested individual in charge of security will think "oh globbits, it's been another of those mystery shoppers!", and go back to sleep. give it a couple of beats before disrobing at your car - don't want to frighten anyone!

268590 well, if your heart keeps beating after that, you're not dead.

268590 forever backwards,

amazon.co.uk/Reise-Rammstein/dp/B0002...

stapped fu' of hits and invention. innaresting coupling of 'amerika/moskau', the latter being the bomb. a point: all rammstein studio albums contain 11 tracks (this one has an untitled and very short 12th at the start, so doesn't really count), i wonder why. no, i really wonder why!

268590 "Save me, Andrew, save me"...

but unfortunately andrew couldn't see you to save you - apparently he's got this vision thing!

(very poor)

268590 hmmm, that 1st sentence in the 2nd paragraph doesn't read well at all - perhaps a suggestion of poundland's move into the sex trade. wonder how long your pound would buy with a lady (or man) of negotiable affection?

268590 limmy's autobiography, Surprisingly Down to Earth, and Very Funny: My Autobiography, was indeed surprisingly down to earth and very funny, but just lacked that weebit more surprisingly down to earth and very funniness that would have rendered it classic. several passages were a little flat, but it was in places, very raw and honest, and next to kelman, he is a master of transcribing the wee private thoughts in his head and on to paper. on the whole though, it's surprisingly down to earth and very funny.

a big poondland poond bought me A Decent Ride today - ain't read a welsh for ages, and the last couple of those were a bit pedestrian, so £1's not much to waste if this is the same.
