in to work to be tested, as they refuse to recognize the nhs test i took on sunday (neg, btw) - it's the same test, same kit, but it's 'required' to be registered with the work - ****ing clowns! might be getting a vaccine shot next week - we'll see!

trouble with these smart ****s is that they've probably got the only one available, so they reckon they can screw people around or look down their antique noses at folk. tell the bastid 'an answer within 24 hours, please, or sale is lost', see if that wakes the **** into action.
sometimes you've got to bite the bullet and think 'do i really want to give this **** my money, am i enjoying the experience of this exchange, do i want to jump thru' hoops for this arsehole? does this transaction kindle great joy within me?

absolutely, but no word on that. the 'corn-fed' man, colin young, has deleted (there may still be copies to be had tho', won't be any more when they run out) the 3 titles in his catalogue 'eurovision/sweden', 'wise and foolish' and 'singles collection', and handed the master tapes to the band, 'in a gesture of hope rather than expectation'. the sound is superb on these releases, in some cases, better than the original vinyl, but when these run out that's it, nothing but a very few downloads to be had. that's criminal! 18 years since any new material? no label willing to take a punt.

it is mostly the re-issues obvs, and it's been quiet on that front of late, but it pays to keep an eye out for contemporary stuff by, mibbe, vin gordon, breadwinners, ras michael (a real triumph), etc, as well as the thousand year wait for something new from misty in roots (it'll happen, i know it'll happen!)

community home covid testing - been a huge spike in bellfield! collected from council 'chips' van, registered and tested from home, returned to van. prob results tomorrow. save me getting tested at work this week (wisnae going anyway - on annual leave. brass, that's like a wee holiday from work)..........and it's no a van that sells chips!

hmph! stashed away now, in what looks like very elaborate packaging - one german reviewer has complained that he sees/hears no difference in the re-mastering, but not likely to bother us as we don't have an original to compare it with.

all day yesterday and today..........and probably tomorrow too! just to smother myself with perfection (in all it's imperfect glory), in a record i have 3 editions of, this being the definitive release of an album that was rejected by island (perhaps mostly due to a dispute with the producer), and originally given a release by the beat's go-feet label. 10 incredible songs in original ja form and also in 'go-feet' form, with a disc of extra related material that's better than most others' feature albums, i just ****ing love this record!

not to say it was bad or ocht (a change for me), but i'm naturally suspicious of comparisons to scott walker, as there are no comparisons to scott walker, as i'm sure you know, jim. many have tried an approximation, but many have failed in shame - probably unfortunate that this fellow found himself subject to such. love or hate walker, no other possessed a singing voice like that.
