I think I'm doing pretty good. 249 out of 355 books completed which puts me at 71 books ahead of schedule. Not bad to be at 70% done at half the year done.

Just got back from another signing at Anderson's Bookshop. I got to meet one of my favorite authors, Jayne Ann Krentz. She signed 5 books for me! I also got autographs from Christina Dodd and Susan Elizabeth Phillips too. It was kind of interesting how all three romance authors really seemed to take note of me. That might have been because of out of the 50 some attendees, I was one of three guys there, and I think the other two fellows were husbands dragged there by wives. ;-)

"I say read this one first. I loved it, gave it a 5-star rating. One of the best pirate stories I've ever read, told in the same style as those other pirate/sea story greats known as Treasure Island and Gulliver's Travels, but with its own unique bits and pieces. A great combo of adventure, historical fiction, and romance with wonderful, unique characters that you will not want to put it down until you finish it.

It investigates how and why writers create their fictional worlds, how we as readers are affected by these stories, and what these 100 different books have to say about our diverse nation and our shared human experience.
The television series features entertaining and informative documentary segments, with compelling testimonials from celebrities, authors, notable Americans and book lovers across the country. It is comprised of a two-hour launch episode in which the list of 100 books is revealed, five one-hour theme episodes that examine concepts common to groups of books on the list, and a finale, in which the results are announced of a nationwide vote to choose America’s best-loved book.
The series is the centerpiece of an ambitious multi-platform digital, educational and community outreach campaign, designed to get the country reading and passionately talking about books.
The Great American Read premieres Tuesday, May 22 at 8/7c.
