2 chapters down. I like the story and it flows nicely but I agree the science is not well written. I understand it, but it is boring! I may be a zoologist, but still find most fields of science are actually quite interesting, so it is not normal for me to consider science boring!
Lu, on the points thread you have Barbara at finished with 30 tasks read, yet in this thread she is at 29. Last I knew she still needed a book published next year and then the bonus, which can only be done last. Did I miss her getting hold of an early copy of a book? If so, congrats Barbara!
I haven't read it, but it was my task. The majority of the book needs to be set at sea, so more than half.

I love the idea of a Somer challenge! One of the bonuses of my job is that I get to spend every summer at the beach. We can't take time off during peak season, but the beach is across the road so I go swimming every morning before work.I haven't got to the while pin thing yet, so a challenge might be am excuse to start.
I would personally not sign up for a romance challenge, if I followed that link right, but that's just me!
