213642 Woah Plethora! Good luck with that, I'll be eager to see if you do it.

You can always go back and finish 'em up, if you wanna help with continuing on. These first two chapters are light/easy. It steps it up a bit. :D

Did you mean Chapter 3? Chapter 2 was unlocked yesterday. I forgot to update that here, sorry! Need to mark down all that I need to make sure to update.

213642 I added the criteria to the 2nd post of this thread. We'll make sure that post is updated with the new criteria as a place to find/remember what the criteria is. We'll also keep post 2 as an update status on where the criteria is, so you know what is left to complete.

This task is just 5 different MEMBERS reading any 5 tasks. 3 are completed, so just 2 to go. :D

213642 Yeah that's why we didn't make it too hard with this one. We wanted these basic "Barc Challenges" to be on the more simple side to offset the the badass ones. :)

213642 Oh yuk! That's quite warm. I can relate to the power issues, we've had a bunch of power issues. The power company finally came and removed most of a tree that was up against the wire and fixed a bad connection in the box. Hoping we stop losing our stuff to power surges now.

Here's to hoping your power is back on soon! Hope you don't melt away in the meantime!

213642 No, for this one we didn't make that a stipulation, but if you want to do it that way to be more badass-y for you, feel free. :D

213642 No worries Plethora, GR was being a complete pain! :)

I do have the ARC of the Ragan book, I like her other series so I'm hoping this is a good one.

Thanks for the picks!!

213642 Nope, doesn't count, sorry! :)

Cute! But with the tasks here, meaning to be a bit harder, we're definitely aiming for the literal on them.

213642 I am definitely a Night Owl. My Hubby gets up early for work (5am most days now) so we're usually in bed around 10-11 but I stay awake listened to audio so I'm still up for quite a while. If I didn't sleep well the day before, I'm usually asleep by 1ish, but most days it's typically 2-3 before I go to sleep.

I like to sleep in, though I don't sleep well so I wake up several times during the night. Typically I get up anywhere between 9-10 and it still takes me a while to get going.

As Ashley called it once, I can totally "do a Karsyn" and just choose to stay up all night. I'll know in advance for something like Dewey's and stay up for 24 hours but I've also laid in bed all night cuz a book has kept me wide awake. Last time that happened, it was for The Butterfly Garden and that was a re-read. I have no problem staying up all night and do it every few months, would more if I really wanted to. :D

213642 Apparently some of us think we aren't interesting! :)

I don't think I am either and my Hubby agrees, He can't come up with anything either..... well, that's PG enough to post. LOL! But I think you all are!! :D

3 interesting things:
1 ~ I have a bump on the left side of my nose from when a dog bit me when I was a kid.
2 ~ I've had penpals on and off most of my life, since I was a kid after camp. My longest penpal I've known for over 16 years now, though we have never met in person.
3 ~ I was born left handed but my father forced me to be right handed. I have horrible handwriting as a result (I think, I don't hold a pen "correctly") but I play pool & guitar (when I tried / Guitar Hero) left handed.

My favorite place to eat is Chili's. I miss it sooooooooo much. Even when we couldn't go often before we moved, we'd go once every month or two. I LOOOOOVE their Chicken Crispers. YUM!! If I could go out to eat anywhere right now, I'd go to Chili's, though I'd also love to go to Pizza Hut as well. Been 5+ years since I've been to either.

213642 I bet others would think Video Games but I'm glad I haven't grown out of them and I hope I never do. When I'm 80, I'm still gonna be running around Tamerial, or whatever is big then, hopefully with an immersive rig like RPO. :D

My favorite smell is peach, though it's hard to find peach smell-y things. Of what I can find, like candles and such, I usually get Cinnamon, my other favorite.

213642 Still no word on resolution.

You CAN mark the threads as read the long way and it will go off of there UNTIL that thread is updated.

So say you have a group that only updates once a day. You can mark them all as read so the annoying "new" isn't all over your updates. So it'll stay nice and tidy until it's updated.

Not the best solution, but if all the "new" are annoying you, it's a temporary fix.

To mark all as read: when on your updates of groups, click "expand" to get more threads then click "more". At the very bottom of that page, click "mark all as read" and it'll wipe out the "new" indicator all all threads until they are updated, then it'll be back to looking like you've never opened it.

213642 For audios:

From Rules & Regs of BARC
Pick an overall edition and stick with it for page counts
[For example, if you read mainly paperbacks, when not listening to an audio, always choose the paperback edition to get your page counts, or if you read mainly Kindle books then use the Kindle edition counts. No Large Print book counts, ever.

So, if it's easiest to stick with the main edition, because that's what most groups do, that's fine. I always pick the Kindle Edition for my own page counts because if I wasn't listening to it on audio then I would be reading it on my Kindle, and often I do both.

For publication:
Unless specified as "original publication" you can use EITHER the edition you are reading or the actual original publication date. But just those two, no random Chinese version published on yet another date. :D

213642 I went to the GR Feedback group and they are aware of the issue, thinking it stems from an outage they had several hours ago.

A GR expert/mod said she'd bring it to the attention of whomever and would keep the group updated. That was 3 hours ago.
Aug 01, 2017 09:51AM

213642 Yup, it's the same for Angie and I. I complained about it to her first thing.

It's driving me NUTS so I hope they fix it soon. I always go by the "new", not really paying attention to the time of the post, so it's definitely annoying!!
Aug 01, 2017 07:52AM

213642 hehehe! I got my Kim! For you, I pick:

Just One Damned Thing After Another (The Chronicles of St Mary's, #1) by Jodi Taylor ~ cuz I need another convert to this series
&
Taken (Taken, #1) by Erin Bowman ~ cuz I can't believe you haven't read it yet

213642 Ashley is correct, doesn't matter who does what for this set, as long as it's 5 different people.

But glad y'all are working together already. WOOOO! :D
