oh, question for everyone's opinion, should i add
honey and clover to our bookshelf? i mean, it's not a clamp series so i feel more than slightly awkward doing it. but, we as a group are also reading it. so, with the logic that we are reading the series (or part of it), shouldn't it be added? but then, what books should and shouldn't be added? i wanted to hear people's thoughts on this.
there is a cool "currently reading" and "to-read/ upcoming books" sections that looked fun to play with

yeppers! so nice to be out of school for a while

i added a new poll. it'll run 1/6 - 1/25. that way i have time to set it up, and people will have a chance to read it, or even find it before february is all gone. i tried to pick love themed manga, since valentine's day is in feb. there is also an "other" opition. a nice new addition if i do say so myself. that way if what i picked is lame, you can voice your own opinion with what we should read. tsubasa and holic can also be picked for feb. both extremely popular clamp titles. i'm really looking forward to the results! please vote everyone!

honey and clover won the jan. group read. i know 8 vol. are curently available, but it's only through 5, so if we can keep the discussion somewhat around there, it'll be nice. that way there aren't too many spoilers for those who are new to the series.

i read tons of shojo beat. lol! it dominates my bookshelf

Takemoto lives in a run-down student apartment, where his greatest worry is when he'll next be able to afford to eat meat and whether he'll get to class on time. Along with his crazy cast of friends, Takemoto sets out to discover life and his true self. Set in a Tokyo art college, Honey and Clover blends comedy and pathos to bring to life a very unique set of individuals.
Love is never easy for our heroes. Takemoto is forced to confront his resentment of his stepfather and his own feelings of being cast adrift, while Mayama and Ayu flounder in their unrequited loves and Morita faces the prospect of being held back another year.

So,
Honey and Clover won our first event of the month read. Yay! For now let's keep the focus on books 1-5. We have to let people (like me) read it first. haha! Later in the month (or maybe February) we can open it up to later books. Anyway, happy reading!

yes, that will be nice too

maybe they make it up. there's no need to try to impress me with your "superior" knowledge. i totally get by just fine

lol. it's just perspective i guess

yeah... but i do so much better work when i get sleep.

it only gets worse as you get into college. 'i've only gotten a's in my major since it's so easy and blah blah blah.' i never thought it was "so easy!" bah i say, bah!

so true. i'm totally looking forward to not thinking for like a month. ah, it will be nice.

lol. i think it was on mangafox. so i should be okay. but i think my library has it too. either way, totally covered.

i think it would be kind of cool. but totally never going to happen.

lol! when i actually need it, it's not in there.

guy. i guess that's why he thought that. i don't know.

true. but it's not like they are going to do the opposite; have grapes taste like apples.

yeah. kind of like all of the different types of demons there are, and what they are called. no one ever really puts that in the back of the book. speaking of which, i see "oro" a lot in manga, but i feel foolish that when i look in the back, it's not there. so it would seem that i should either already know what it means or should be able to deduce what it means. since i can't/haven't i feel more than slightly dumb.

yeah, i'm looking forward to not thinking. ah, that would be nice. besides, i have lots of books on my "to read" list that i really should try to finish.
