Welcome to the EHRTBM 2024 Summer Olympics Challenge!
This challenge will run during the 2024 Paris Olympics, July 26th - August 11th.
This will be similar to the House Cup Challenge. You will choose a team (Country) and log finished books to get points. However, there will be multiple "events" to compete in, and we are going to try logging books a little differently this time.
HOW TO COMPETE
The first step is to choose your country. You can compete for whichever country you want to. It does not have to be the country you are from or currently live in.
LOGGING YOUR BOOKS
As I mentioned we are trying something new this challenge! After you have finished a book please fill out the form in this link:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FA...
This form will automatically add your book's information to a spreadsheet which you can view here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
(If you would like to keep a personal log of the books you have completed you are welcome to make one on this thread, just like we have done in the past. but you must fill out the form in the link above as well.)

No, please join in whenever you can!
What counts as a Book Club book? (Events 7-9)
Any book we have read as a group is a Book Club book you can see a list of the books we have read on the group Bookshelf
Games start July 26th!
Our next theme for July 1st - September 30th will be the 5 oldest books on your TBR. These can be the books you've wanted to read for the longest amount of time or the oldest book by published date. Feel free to pull books from different TBRs if you have more than one!
Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I have the next year and a half of themes planned out already, but I am writing down your ideas...It just might be a while before we get to them.
Nicole wrote: "but even after her own experiences throughout the war, she still doesn't learn...."
Nicole, this is exactly what bothered me the most about Eva. I feel she doesn't learn or grow at all! Not during the war or after.
I agree with most the criticism in these comments. I felt the romance was too overpowering to the rest of the story and characters were lacking. Because no one here has brought it up, I was really annoyed with the writing too. The author keeps foreshadowing the fact that Eva's father is still alive! They keep bringing up the idea that he is alive and how they can't think that way because it would be impossible. So many times! She foreshadows Remi not being dead a couple of times as well so I was also suspicious he didn't die either. So both "twists" were ruined for me.
