Nicole, this is exactly what bothered me the most about Eva. I feel she doesn't learn or grow at all! Not during the war or after.
I agree with most the criticism in these comments. I felt the romance was too overpowering to the rest of the story and characters were lacking. Because no one here has brought it up, I was really annoyed with the writing too. The author keeps foreshadowing the fact that Eva's father is still alive! They keep bringing up the idea that he is alive and how they can't think that way because it would be impossible. So many times! She foreshadows Remi not being dead a couple of times as well so I was also suspicious he didn't die either. So both "twists" were ruined for me.

How to keep score:
Comment on this thread with 5 books from your TBR that fit the current theme. When you've finished a book from your list check it off by adding the date you finished reading next to the title:
Books read: 1/3
1. Something Wicked This Way Comes
2. A Tale of Two Cities January 6
3. The Two Towers
To edit your challenge score/edit your comment:
1. Find your comment in the challenge thread. [Tip: Take note of the message number in the upper left corner when you first post your list]
2. On the bottom right of your comment, there should be four hyperlinks: "reply | edit | delete | flag". Select "edit".
3. Add your book read date per above instructions.
4. Click "edit post" once you are done.
Challenge dates:
This challenge will run all year with a different theme for each quarter.
Themes will be announced within the first week of the new quarter.
January 1-March 31 Books with Green on the cover/in the title
April 1 - June 30 Books by authors you haven't read before
July 1 - September 30
October 1 -December 31
Levels
You don't have to read all 5 books from your TBR to participate! choose to read however many books you want to.
Books read:
0- It’s the thought that counts
1 - One more down!
2 - On a Roll
3 - Page Turner
4 - Avid Reader
5 - Reading Rockstar

If each one posts in a different way (cover vs. link, same line vs. different lines, bold vs. not bold, et.), it sometimes becomes harder for who is sum checking or managing the challenge to find the information.
This may look simple, but after hundreds of messages, believe me, a standard post helps! :-)
So, if you care to make life easier for your mods, checkers, volunteers, etc., you can use the following template with code for posting in this challenge. :-)
1. Add book COVER as instructed in message 1 above.
2. Copy the text between the lines - but NOT the lines (---------).
-----------------------------------------------------
January 31
XXX pages
<*b*>Total Group Pages: SUM HERE<*/b*>
-----------------------------------------------------
3. Paste it under the book cover.
4. Change the month, the day and XXX for your correct data.
5. Change "SUM HERE" for your addition result.
6. REMOVE the four asterisks (*)
The result should look like this (without the lines, of course):
-----------------------

January 1st
835 pages
Group total: 4,900 pages

HOW IT WORKS
Post a comment (on the LAST COMMENT PAGE) with the following four things:
1) the COVER of a book you recently read (see below for instructions),
2) the date you completed reading that book,
3) the number of pages in the book you read, and
4) last but not least, sum of all pages read by the group.
ANYONE can post AS MANY TIMES as they want! This is a group effort, folks! You can enter books read for the bookclub AND those read outside of the group.
THE RULES / SOME TIPS
1. How to add a book cover
On the top right of the comment box, you will see a hyperlink "add book/author" (in English).
At the bottom of the window that appears, you'll see two radio buttons "link" and "cover" - please select "cover".
Type the name of the book in the search field and once you click "search", select the correct book. The code will look like the following without the *: [*bookcover:The Catcher in the Rye|5107]
2. How to decide your page count
If hardcopy, use the number of pages in the edition of the book that you read.
If electronic (kindle, nook, etc.), use the number of pages from the kindle edition.
If you listened to a book on tape, use the number of pages from the most popular edition on Goodreads (when you search a book, the most popular edition is the default).
No genre or page length restrictions, and can be book club group reads OR books you've read outside of the group.
3. Books per post
In general, books per post should be one book as you would be posting the book you most recently finished, but feel free to add more if you have finished multiple books recently!
This is a running tally, so please don't wait and post 20 books at once... wouldn't be much of a relay!
No need to post backdated books. Just start from the day you entered the relay =)
4. Make sure you are on the LAST comment page
As this is a running tally, make sure you are on the LAST COMMENT PAGE before commenting as you want to add your pages read to the last total.
Above the comment box, you'll see the hyperlinks for every comment page, will look like "<< previous 1 2 3 4 5 next >>" or something like this - make sure you're on the highest number. Goodreads only allows for 50 comments per page.
5. Please double check the math of your post total!!
F.A.Q's:
Do partially read books count?
No, you need to finish the book for it to count. If you DNF (do not finish) a book, it won't count.
LET'S RELAY!!!

Points need to be logged by midnight January 2nd.
Happy New Year!
